Title: Gnoodles
Post by: 24KT on June 18, 2007, 07:30:54 AM
I saw the most interesting dogs the other day.
They were a cross between a Golden Retriever and a standard French Poodle.
They were HUGE, but with the most peaceful and pleasant dispositions I've ever seen on a dog.

I'm a little upset with all these "designer mutts" people are coming up with now and charging outrageous money for.  Nothing wrong with mutts, I have one myself, but this is getting to be a money making scheme for some. The same dog years ago would of sat in a shelter or been sold for a reasonable fee in the paper, is now going for pure bred pricing.

  And some of the cross breeds are not beneficial to the dog.  IE: the puggle.  Pugs have breathing problems, why take a breed without breathing problems and intentionally breed problems into it? (supposedly puggles don't have breathing problems though)

   No dog is a mutt anymore I guess.  It is getting ridiculous.   :-\

  :o  Wallace Havens, who has been crossbreeding dogs for 35 years in Sun Prairie, Wis., refutes the idea that he runs a puppy mill. He offers buyers about 30 different purebreds along with almost 30 crossbreeds, including puggles.

I'm starting to see a lot of puggles out there.  We took Dog to the Vet the other week & the Vet was holding a puggle.

Maybe at a later time in life....I might consider a puggle.  They seem pretty neat.

  Dog?    ::)

  I would consider a mutt, but not a high priced only bred for money mutt.

Yah, Goldendoodles and Labradoodles are all the rage for those who want a non-shedding, family friendly, large dog.

He's normally quite a private shitter - heads for the bushes.  The pic is payback for him making me use the baggie.  :-X

Good looking dog Tapeworm :)

Thanks STella.  Don't be fooled tho, he's got the devil in him.  :D

These definitely were those. I was blown away as how peaceful these creatures were.

They looked like they were soooo laid back, ...like they were on valium or something, ...but they weren't dosy or anything, just serenely calm. You got the impression that despite their huge size, they wouldn't trash your house.
