Phil Heath's arms are probably the most talked about body part in pro bodybuilding. Question is, exactly how large are Phil's arms?
Here's a pic from the 2007 Arnold Classic of Phil hitting an arm pose next to Darrem Charles; Darrem's arm looks considerably larger in circumference.
I think the thing that makes Phil Heath so impressive is his deep cuts...it makes him look much larger than he actually is. I'm not sure if there has ever been someone with such deep cuts and round muscle bellies.

Agreed. No way Phil is that big. I don't think people understand how large a 19 inch arm is with zero bodyfat. I'm doubt there are but a couple of pros who have arms approaching 21 inches in contest shape.

heaths arms look big ass hell from some angles cause of his crazy flaring long tris, but in the pose like the rdb his full tris dont help give that illusion and they look a lot smaller.

come to dallas ;) they use something similar.. called "medicine". thats the slang term for it. it causes muscle inflamation and burns fat in that area that its injected.....and causes someone to become very vascular in that area as well..... hmmmmm isnt ronnie from the dallas area ;)

So Phil has 21s and Darrem 20s? Based off what? Did you not see the pic posted at the beginning of this thread? Darrem has an upper arm that is clearly larger than Phil's - it doesn't look close at all. Come on dude - you're blinded to reality.
That pic was taken at the 2007 Arnold; Phil was already blown up when those pics were taken. Sure, he's probably gotten bigger since then...but not that much bigger. ITS ALL AN ILLUSION WIGGS!
Remember, Ronnie has had his arms measured a shade under 22 more than once - and he would blow either Phil or Darrem out of the water.

Phil Heath is the king of muscle separation - the guy looks so much larger than he actually is regarding weight and/or measurements.
I wish there was a way to take out a measuring tape at the Arnold Classic & Mr. Olympia to measure everybody's arms and waists. You'd find that just about everyone fudges the numbers, I'm sure.
The alleged waist measurements would be from when they first started bodybuilding and weighed 170 lbs and the arm measurements would be off-season measurements after an arm workout. All of this bullshit about 21 inch arms in contest shape and 30 inch waists is too foolish to be believed.

Yes, Phil's arms do not look as impressive in the front double as they do in other poses...you know why? Because they aren't enormously huge arms like Ronnie, Markus, Wheeler, Dillett, Levrone...but Phil has extremely deep separation in the muscle and great muscle bellies. He is the David Copperfield of bodybuilding...a master of illusion. In the 2006 Colorado pro show, Phil was blowing Darrem off the stage. Yet if you put a tape to each of their arms, Darrem's would be larger. The fact that Phil has a rather narrow torso only really accentuates his arms as well.

Why not? Every other comparison has been made.
I think your guesstimate is closer to reality than all of these claims of 22-23 inches. Most guys' only frame of reference of what big arm looks like is their fat buddy with 19 inch guns. They see a guy who's in phenomenal condition with good arm shape and guess he's probably got a 21-22 inch arm....although he's the same size as their fat friend.

Exactly - the point of all this is that big measurements are great (and Phil does have a huge arm), but these claims of everyone having 21 plus inch arms are mostly false and not really all that relevant anyway. It's all about the mirror and what people are saying.

take markus rhul for instance... his arms are always critisized but his arms are huuuuge far bigger than heaths.... i saw his dvd recently ....arms are trmendous but because his chest and delts are so huge the dwarve his arms plus he doesnt hae that round shape heath does... plus hear has a small narrow torso hence his arms look bigger
cover his torso place him next to dareem and viola

Heath blew up after the 2007 Arnold pic that was taken, his arms were in another zip code at the 2008 Ironman. I agree he has mad detail. Which recalls the saying, "a detailed 16 inch arm is better than a non-detailed 20 inch arm".
