Title: Raising The Bar #2
Post by: BigAnt on October 11, 2007, 08:40:00 AM
A classic...from the training segments, to the feedings in the airport to the contests (Pony up Dave and go out there and get your first place trophy)

A great and motivating DVD!

Mike anything in mind different for #3?

Better...............the first RTB was "all over the map" in regards to covering the main subject (DAVE)
RTB2 sticks to the main subject (dave has charsima and a great story to tell)
i didn't care to see/hear about the 15 different queef-headed training partners like in RTB1
RTB2 sticks with one story and tells it.

GREAT DVD!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In RTB-2 it gets into more detail about contest prep, and how a bodybuilder lives through the pre-contest phase, balancing a full-time job, dealing with injuries, relationship problems, cooking, just everything a bodybuilder who is getting ready to compete does.  Educational and a driving force to watch!~

And Lance is back (breath dude breath, at the IHOP) LOL

Thanks BigAnt! Can't tell you how much I appreciate your comments.

Not sure how 3 is going to turn out until I actually do it but I will say that based on what I've shot since the end of RTB2 I think it'll be funnier and will deal with Dave's final contest and adjustment to retiring from the sport. (You be quiet Arvilla!)

I know...a come back from Adam Demino....no?

You have to put footage about your folks, nothing like old school Italian parents watchign their son eating pre-contest food...and not totally understanind...I get it all the time...'"What my meatloaf ain't good, it is made wit the best ingredients"

Big Ant's right  off the boat italian families definately hat to see you eating just tuna , rice and getting what they call "SKINNY" when you could be eating a big bowl of macaroni or 7 with meatballs . Get fat as cow but they call that"Healthy".  Been going thru it since 99. Haven't competed though since 03. I still watch what I eat who knows maybe 08 there will be a comeback. Big Ant from one paisan to another good luck in Nationals.

Dave...Has to do what is the best for him-his health, and it ain't from all drugs, come on people...high protein diet, training heavy with injuries, pulling water....year after year...the body takes a beating!

As far as retiring...as long as he is happy...

He has a great business and as far a I am concerned, he should of had his pro card!

i agree.. thanx... im not trying to attack but you can see stuff in that physique that can only be seen by excessive drug abuse and the training isnt exactly text book. getting ready for a show is hard but i can guarantee that lifting with awful form and taking way too much shit is going to get you quicker than prepping for a show.

I know of Dave personally, off season when he is "clean" he is still big-cut-vascular and trains hard, sure he might "swing" a bit with the weights, but he "knows" what works for him...and genetics play a part, if you saw the DVD his father-brother and sister have muscular/lean structures...

Getting ready for a show is tough a "test" for yourself, you and I have both been there, Dave has been on the National circuit for years...and again in the off-season when he is off, he is still hard and muscular...and holds some good size!

oh, and another thing. please stop pretending to know what i "use" or how much based on how i look. you dont have the foggiest clue what i use or how much... even though you THINK you know all these "telltale signs". if we are going to do that, then we can assume you use wayyyy more androgens than i do based on the huge layer of bullshit you have under your skin in your contest pics.

as far as my "form", i am the only guy i know who has not had a major injury in 30 years in the gym. will you even make 30 years in the gym? probably not. what looks like sloppy form to you is actually a totally calculated movement using controlled cheating.

again, instead of bashing, take some notes, learn something and show some respect for some one who would smoke you onstage.

by the way, it must be really nice and comfortable to go onstage with that layer of fat and water you have. not that you know, but its really physically uncomfortable to be stripped of all bodyfat and water. youre gonna need to go there if you wanna actually get to the national level and not just "a hair away"

Your intelligence is lost on these know-it-all internet trolls, bro. Save your energy for better forums where your 25 years of experience is appreciated.

Wikipedia Definition: An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who intentionally posts controversial or contrary messages in an on-line community such as an on-line discussion forum with the intention of baiting users into an argumentative response.

That's most of Getbig and it is childish and tiresome.

dave p. is that you? bro, i admire your conditioning and dedication. i'm gonna buy your dvd too. could you answer this for me?

how much does your dvd go into the diet aspect... does it list everything you eat and in what amounts. and how low you go on carbs and stuff?

hey, bro. thanks alot for the compliments. i have to say, i know you would love "raising the bar 1 and 2", but they are not instructional dvd's. they are more documentaries, like "pumping iron", only with much more about the behind -the- scenes type stuff.

having said that, the dvd's do go into much of my prep, but not in detail.

my brother was exaggerating when he said "80 oz" of tuna a day. the reality is that i eat 8 cans of tuna a day when prepping for a show and yes, i do worry about the mercury.

DO YOU HONESTLY BELIEVE YOU LOOK GOOD???  Seriously, you look like maybe you place 5th in a local show.  Decent shape, but blobs of bodyfat, lousy conditioning, soft as tissue paper and WATERY with gyno problems.

Takes a lot of balls to talk smack looking like you do.

na, im talking about the 6 oz cans . they have about 4 oz of actual tuna in them, so thats a  bit over 30 oz of tuna a day...still a lot.

pre contest cardio usually maxes out at an hour and a half a day. 1 hour a.m. and 30 minutes p.m.

I'm talking about slin. No one could say Dave was smooth! Slin looks like he's retaining about a quarter of an inch of Gadzooks ice cream under his skin.

bro, he was saying that youre a dave p guy. he knew you were bashing slin.

Oh! Get off his nuts! I thought it said get off his BACK!

The ice cream statement is still relevant however.

this picture represents what is wrong with modern BBIng----GH and insulin abuse resulting in a large and distended gut (oh course its the same thing everyone says--you know why?? cause its true!!!!!!):-\------you would look phenomanol if not for your gut but then again you would not have the same size or cuts without it since the same things that gives you these gives you the gut

you put down all the "little guy" competitiors but you are a symbol of Gh and insulin abuse---someone who has abused and abused for so long you've ruined your physique

Mr. Clean is a possibility, but definitely not Mr. Natural.  ;D

awwww. thats so cute.

when i was 27 i had already competed on the national level twice and took as high as 2nd in my class at the usa. by the time youre my age, bodybuilding will be a distant memory for your fat ass.

by the way "slin", your midsection isnt exactly flat in those pics, bro.

hahaha, hey bro, did you know that "Captain Slin" admitted a while back on the roids board that he was a diabetic and that's how he knew about insulin?  It was fucking classic...he got called out on it and then he deleted all his posts in that thread.

Why all the hate?

Dave is a National level bodybuilder, why not take the time to pick his brain, find out why he never had a major injury in the 30 years he has been training, why he only considers the "7" foods of contest prep, why he didn't use water pills for his last show and looked very dry!

Dave, don't buy into the little mined people on here, Al, Vic and I and many others know what you are capable of and how hard you work in-out of the gym...maybe invite some of the "kids" who hide behind the keyboard down to train and see if they can hang with you "swinging" the weights...most will not be able to lift your gym bag!

And Mike will film how they cry like babies at the end!

ON a conditioning standpoint he was spot on,and won his class and if he won overall and turned pro ,i still think maybe he would have hung it up.to try to hang with the pros is on a total different level.he achieved that level of density and hardness, not the other factors needed but was almost there.whoever rags on dave is uneducated in bbing, cause it is 1st the personal satisfaction to achieve success on stage and win is a bonus.he crossed 3 decades and road every bad fashion, equipment advances, prep,he's proud i'm sure but he has to constantly dodge some bad comments occassionally.i think he handles it well...

LMAO!!! youre absolutely on point with this post, bro. its almost like all those points ( injury free for 30 years, 7 foods etc) went completely unnoticed here and the only thing this guy could focus on was the fact that i have thick abs.

the other thing that amuses me time and again is how these guys swear they know what i take by looking at me. if they really knew what i do, it would shut them right up.

anyway, thanks for starting the thread and for the props, ant.

its funny, too. on professionalmuscle.com, they asked me to start a "q and a" thread. in 2 weeks, it has over 6,000 views and has gone on for 9 pages with nothing but respect and legit questions. what a contrast from this cesspool.
