Former movie rivals ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER and SYLVESTER STALLONE are now such good pals, they meet every Saturday to smoke cigars and discuss how to run California. After competing at the box office for years, the pair grew close after Schwarzenegger landed the job of California Governor in 2003 - and they are inseparable now. Stallone reveals, "At one time Arnold and I were like Sodom and Gomorrah, Cane and Abel, very competitive. "After he became governor, we started to build this relationship. We'd go to this place called Cafe Rome and smoke cigars, then they banned smoking, so the governor and I were in an alley stealing a few puffs talking about how to balance the budget. Now we meet every Saturday. "He saw the first version of (new sequel) John Rambo. How ironic, the guy who used to be my competition. He really loved it." And Stallone has short shrift for critics of the Terminator star: "He's a genius. Never judge a muscular book by its cover."

They were not then aware (Sly and Arnold) that they had a great deal in common,
far beyond the platitudes spewed out by their respective studio bios. But fate had put them on
a collision course. Within nine years Sly and Arnold would share an experience that would
initially galvanize and then almost destroy them both.
(Speaking of the Jan. 1977 Golden Globe awards and Brigitte Nielsen from Wendy Leigh's book.)

On the 2nd pic, look at the platform shoes Sly wears just to look "taller." He is at least 5'8 at best. What a insecure man, haha.

Sylvester Stallone thinks he is tougher than modern action stars.
The 61-year-old ‘Rambo’ actor believes he and his '80s “peers,” Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis, are far more physical than today’s “hands-off and intellectual” Hollywood heroes.
"I think that some young actors will look at me as this archaic, prehistoric creature because now we’ve become much more scientific, less personal" Stallone said.
“Most of my peers were very physical. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis – they were just more hands-on. I think that a lot more actors today are hands-off and they’re more intellectual.”
Stallone said Rambo would wipe the floor with Matt Damon’s ‘Bourne Ultimatum’ character Jason Bourne in a fight.
"Rambo would murder Jason Bourne. I’m kidding," he joked. "Maybe the one in ‘The Transporter’ though – Jason Statham.”
Now good friends with former big screen rival Schwarzenegger, Stallone said in an interview with Britain’s The Sun newspaper, "I see him every Saturday at Café Roma in Beverly Hills. It’s funny because we used to be so competitive in the 80s and now we’re the best buddies in the world.”
'Rambo', the fourth film featuring Stallone's formidable ex-soldier John Rambo, is due to hit cinema screens next month.

i think that Jason Bourne - on that topic - was a very badass character, although yeah a bit too much thinking for that genre, also .. Jason Statham is a fucking champ i love his movies.. especially Crank.

Glad you pointed that out. I was looking at the pic and thought, "something doesn't look right...at ~6 ft. tall, Arnold should be towering over 5'8" Stallone." Certainly shows you how short Franco is. He looks like a midget compared to Arnold and Sly.

Stallone claimed he was 5'10" on Howard Stern yesterday when he was talking about being too short for Richard Donner (who is 6'1" or 2") to cast him in the original Superman... Seems a bit of a stretch that he's that tall...

This web site (on celebrity heights of all things) claims the 5'9" and notes that 5'8 and 5'10" have also been cited. It also list Arnold as 6'2" with washington post reporting 5"10". http://members.shaw.ca/harbord/heights2.html (http://members.shaw.ca/harbord/heights2.html)
What I find hard to believe is Franco Columbu at 5'5" as Wikipedia states. http://en.wikipedia.org/?title=Franco_Columbu (http://en.wikipedia.org/?title=Franco_Columbu) He seem much shorter in the pics I have seen. I guess he makes up for his lack of heighth in width. :D

I kinda expected the boys to grow up as mini Arnolds, but the girls seem to have taken his facial features alot more than the boys.. then again they are older - but it doesn't look as harsh as i thought his accented features would look on females.. i dunno how old they are but the tallest one is actually pretty cute in those pics.
