I've got a question for you guys. I know there is muscle memory in regards to building muscle. For example, if someone used to be very muscular and then quits working out, they can regain that muscle faster than someone who never hard it to begin with. But does this also apply to aerobic exercise? Let's say someone used to be able to run about 15 miles at a time, but then they quit running for a while and got out of shape. Assuming the same starting point, similar genetics, workout program, etc, would that person be able to work back up to 15 miles faster than someone who had never been able to run that far previously? Will the muscle memory kick back in and help you to progress faster or is it just like starting all over again?
