The Last Jedi gives me All new appreciation for the prequels.

Thankfully George Lucas gave us epic Jedi action in those.

Well hope you endorsers of The Last Jedi enjoy the continued saga of the new Disney princess Rey "Mary Sue" Nobody LOL.

It's funny, after some thinking about it, I'm starting to be a bit disenchanted by it too.

Things I like:

Love how the intro never changes after 40 years...still get the nostalgia feeling on that

I watched in a 4d theater - so the shots / effects of the battles are great

Klyo Ren is a good character and well acted.  Critques are he's not a Vader clone but he's not supposed to be.

Things I didn't:

Plot holes galore
Finn / Rose storyline was dumb.  Finn sucks.  How did they survive that explosion that wiped out everyone?  Because they were lying down?
Po's actions made no sense
Snoke wasted (appears to be at least.  Was hoping he'd be Darth Plagueis).

Other stuff:

I guess I can accept Rey's abilities if she is supposedly stronger with the force than anyone ever
Would have been cool if Luke did show up, and just laid them all to waste, as Vader would have.  Show the true power of the masters.

More later....maybe.

Guys, I've never seen any of the StarWars movies, can you guys recommend how to go about watching these, I mean in terms of order. I want to see what I've been missing out on, but want to do this the right way. Thanks!

Alright thanks for the info, a friend of mine on the ship, works in the Tech Department, gave me an external hard drive with like 700 movies on there, and all of the StarWars movies are there as well, I figured I'd try to see what these are all about but wanted to tackle this project the right way.

Lots of movies to watch when you're on that boat.

Hopefully you can tackle the project without too much stress and/or injury.

It's going to take a lot of work, i can get through about 15-20 minutes a night before I pass out. It took me almost 2 weeks to watch The 40 Year Old Virgin.  ;D

GRAPE, Why in this order 4-5-6-1-2-3?

I only saw the first one/ Are you saying that there is a historical 'background' to the original episode?

I just wanted Luke Skywalker to be awesome with his green lightsaber, exhibit cool new force abilities, while being an awesome mentor for Rey and reuniting with Leia and confronting Snoke, Kylo and the Knights of Ren.   I wanted to see him command the scene and go all out.

What this dude is talking about is fine about white guys, but LOL I just wanted awesome Jedi action from a movie called The Last Jedi featuring Master Jedi Luke Skywalker.

Instead I got "get off my lawn kids" Luke Skywalker with no lightsaber and then some walrus milking followed by the worst, revealed demonstration of Jedi power I've ever seen followed by fade to black.

Jedi face stuff head on with courage and strength.   This was just garbage and I hate it and so did Mark Hamil, but he got a check so whatever LOL.

If you're a casual SW fan you'll enjoy this movie and will also be the unfortunate reason this crap continues.

That's their theatrical release order and sets up the "big reveal".

I went to the prequels in the 90s. People clapped after those movies. This one was like a funeral procession at the let out.
the Prequels(especially Episode 1)were like cartoon movies, like watching Mickey Mouse. The only thing I liked about them were the lightsaber fights. The sequels may not be ideal but are much better.

Start with 4,then 5 and 6. Those are the real classics. You can skip the rest.

How are they better? Better storylines? Better characters? How?

Yes.  Most of the acting was pathetic, maybe except for Liam Neeson.

Depends on your age. I'll bet you are too young to have seen 4/5/6 before the prequels. This new movie was an ADHD mess.

Ewan Mcgregor was perfect in those.

Best things with the Prequels were Liam Neeson as Qui Gon Jinn, Ewan as Obi Wan Kenobi and Ray Park (a real martial artist) as Darth Maul.

Not just the choice of actors, but also the characters, and their fight was a breath of fresh air compared to Vader and Bens geriatric fight in Ep 6.

There's always some comic relief in the star wars-movies though (just to sell toys), be it Ewoks, Jar Jar Hebrew or Porgs.

They got Luke's character all wrong.  I feel like this movie was a fuck you to men(especially white men) a fuck you to the original trilogy and a fuck you to the people like me that love the original trilogy.

I like Rey even though she is a Mary Sue, I understand they have to turn the franchise over to new characters.  It wouldn't have taken much to make me happy.  Instead I got a fuck you.  They wiped their ass with Luke Skywalker and that I do not forgive.

If they think I'm paying to see Episode 9 or that dumb ass Han Solo movie after this they are out of their fucking minds.  There is a lot of things I've had to walk away from the last few years and Star Wars is another one of them.

All the Last Jedi did was to shit on Luke , men in general and promote feminism , diversity, niggnoggery and interracial relationships.

Last thing we need is a 'Nuther Mall Brawl.

And the casino-scene was the worst scene in any star wars-movie, even the gungans were better.

McGregor was okay.  I agree that the light saber duels were the best parts of those movies.  The CGI was a joke though, especially the CGI Yoda.  The in camera puppet looks so much more realistic.

Mark Hamill was opposed to the way his character was being portrayed, yet he still agreed to appear in this movie.  It's Hamill's fault too.
