Remember those silly NPC competitors that decided to go to wayne's PDI, then changed the minds (thanks to pressure) and decided they wanted to ear a REAL pro card?
how did things work out for them?
Vinnie Galanti - torn bicep, 2nd place masters nationals. Retired from NPC competition
TJ Shoenborn - torn bicep and rotator - NABBA nationals, 3rd place. Retired from NPC competition
So much for "being rewarded for their loyalty", huh?
Sorry to tell you Vinny or I have not 'Retired from NPC"
Vinny I believe is competing this year later and I will be back from my injury to compete in 2009!

hahah they all crawled back to papa weiders office and begged for a pro card and forgiveness :D
Gayer than tossing the salad :D
tj,
do you think youll be able to regain the stellar form that won you 3rd place at a NAABA show?
Hey even jack london can win their shows!
When TJ hits his mark, which he does 99% of the time, he will do just fine in the NPC!
I don't see what the big deal is. As I mentioned somewhere else, Kai Greene competed as a professional in the WNBF for a few years, before going to the NPC in which he won the Team Universe twice, 1999 and 2004, the latter win got him an IFBB pro card.
So why would two guys who weren't IFBB pros from the start get any flak for competing in PDI? Back in the day, bodybuilders hopped from the AAU and NABBA to the NPC and IFBB on a regular basis.
thanks buddy!
Dude when I did thatshow I had shingles down my right arm and delt. I was very sick and yet I still went to do the show. I was not near my best, Was holding a boat load of water. But yes I will be able to go beyond my form I brought to the North Americans where I won the heavies and barely lost to Haley!
Not even going to comment on such a childish post!
hideous.
brutal injection zone.
Wis, are you and TJ gay lovers?
LOL!
;D
Thats called "shingles"
umm i'm sorry you had to find work as a roofer since your bodybuilding career failed.
i hear mr. blechman is looking for a new gardener, if your interested!

How exactly did his bodybuilding career fail? He's but one national title (or class win) and one supplement-company call away from collecting a good hunk of change. Who knows?? He could very well be endorsing a product that works 2354% better than its regular counterpart ;D
musclecraptech doesn't have the money to sign new guys, son ;)

Ben and Joe Weider have nothing to do with the NPC. Jim Manion does. But he and the NPC have a court order (http://www.musclememory.com/wiki/index.php?title=NPC_AAU_Settlement) that prevents them from discriminating against anyone who has competed in another amateur league.
why are you so worried about it nickels? If he did compete in the PDI who cares they should be able to compete wherever they want. The IFBB restricting the bodybuilders is rediculous if you want to keep the competitors give more prize money so they dont have to go elsewhere or compensate those who dont place in the money if not they dudes gotta make money some how.

Not sure about any court order but what I can say is I never got ANY pressure from the NPC or any one in it in any way! I changed my mind on my own as did Vinny. I called both Steve W. and Jim Manion and explained the situation and expressed I wanted to stay in the NPC. They both were very nice to me and welcomed me back. As far as I am concerned the NPC acted with class - I can not say the same for Wayne !
Uhhhhhh. Maybe you havent noticed but your a lil npc guy. And priest is a high profile top IFBB pro......little difference there, to the revenge theory...
I didnt know Vinny tore his bicep, you sureeeeeeee?? ???
very true!
But I was just staing the fact that no one pressured me in anyway. I do not think I am on the same level as Lee or any other IFBB guys. That was not the point I was trying to make.
i ws just being a smartass anyway. Props for your success, man. ;)

A FULL THICKNESS tear of rotator cuff wqould make it near impossible to return to top form.
You look great TJ in a non gay way ;D
Mad Nickels = Shorn Rey from what ive gathered on reading these forums.. ::)
Thanks buddy.
Shawn Ray huh
If it is I would hope he would have the balls to use his real name who ever he is.
If you need surgery, try to go it arthroscopically. When they open you, you need WAY more time to recover.
I am having my 4th full thickness tear repaired in 2 weeks. Fell on ice!
Already had the delt scoped, 24days ago. Just started PT.
4th that sucks!
Great. I'd rather have a knee replacement than a shoulder problem. You knowq what I mean. Its the joint wqith most range of motion in the body...so there are many wqays it can screw up and its loss of full use limits one so.
Hit by car, thrown off bicycle, fell on ice= 4 times sx! Yes, insane. You look great, by the way. Have great midsection with great size....stay the course.
Sean Rey is a bitter midget. TJ looks great. The only person Sean can have a civil conversation with is the DEA.
Thanks
Call me like to talk to you about your recovery process
A few pics from last year
Damn... TJ, looking ripped there. Good luck in 2008, man!
It will be 2009
Sent you a cd for the website today
call me when you get it so we can discuss where it all goes
thanks buddy!
TJ, your lack of hair and obsession with building cattle-like slabs of striated mass is very creepy.
very true!

did you stop to consider it might be alopecia ?
I don't see many/ if any areas to improve....especially great waist line with formidable size and taper...I have judged for nearly 20 years and this is the way judges should lean in selection process...plus the man is eloquent, respectful, all the good things in a good American
Thanks Moose
He has alopecia totalis and cannot help it, so can the asshole comments...or, as we have all asked of such critical types...post your own pics.
Fantastic hamstrings...keep the detail.
TJ, is Kelly LeBrock as stuck up as everyone says she is? And are you still in the film business?
Lookin' swole tj! ;D
That was me at Hallowween!
LOL
If you can't laugh at your self!
I am pretty secure with my self - have a great wife and kids, new house, great job and some sucess in BBing to boot.
Just teach your wife to have the same sense of security and she will no longer feel the need to look silly when she sucks in her stomach for photos.
What ever you say!
Damn...
What ever you say!
I stand corrected. You've proven your wife's sense of self by posing pictures presenting her as a sexual object.
Being secure in self is far different than being sexually attractive. I'm sure there's a few guys jerking off on to your wife's pictures right now. That shows her attractiveness.
However, the fact that she (and you) need to show photos of her for acceptance can lend itself to a perception of insecurity.

How much $$$$$ Money did you win in the PDI???."Livin the dream baby"
So you knew it was not worth it????Did you get a sign on payment like Lee and others or just given a PDI Pro card.Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ::)
Sorry dude just thought you were PDI my bad.All the best with your IFBB contests.Ps you don't need facts to burn anyone on Getbig, most here don't even train.
No but he will be for having Milk Tits. That guy has never been in shape in a Pro show if you could calll PDI Pro never works when you give out Pro cards like candy. ::)

good to see big v..back for a post. 8)Yes it is!
??? ???
Hey Skippy I'm right here.....
Yep I placed 2nd last year, and I looked like shit....But I am not retired from competition at all.
my bicep has healed real nice, you cant tell all that much when i do a front double bi shot.
as far as being rewarded, i never got that memo that the npc would take care of me for my loyalty...lol
Am I happy that i never went through with the PDI....YES.
We all make stupid mistakes sometimes.
but i didn't look too bad for looking like shit though.....
Look at Lee Priest. He stated in his MuscleMag column that, if the IFBB didn’t reinstate him, he would compete at the NABBA Mr. Universe, countering Shawn Ray’s claims that his career was over.
Thanks buddy.
Shawn Ray huh

The North American is a pretty weak show compared to the USA and Nationals, what was your highest placing at either one of those shows. Not hating, just wondering? In my opinion the north american doesnt have the same caliber competitor at all.
Do you consider your self pro from a class win only? didnt you get crushed at the usa on your previous attempt?
Dont engage in this childish play JT, no one really cares about your cars, house, job, and wife. If you have to tell everyone what you got, then you just seem insecure about it. Just keep boasting about your NA win, and do the USA to redeme yourself
top 10 in any of those shows is a good showing, and if a competitor takes those places and improves each showing and gets some positive press or judges eye will creep up to top 5 consistently .they will look for u in the lineup every yr as long as u show up in as good or better than previous showing,t.j.did it 3 yrs in row and different classes and was in great shape too...
I took 5th in Jr Nationals Middlewts in 2003, I took 3rd in the 2004 Jr Nationals Light Heavy and 9th at the 2004 USA's as a Lightheavy. In 2005 I won my class at the North Americans as a Heavy Weight. And came very close to beating Marcus Haley in the overall and many including Phil Heath thought I did beat him for the Pro card. That is 3 different weight classes in 3 years. I am not saying I am the best or better then so in so,or that I am of pro quality, but I do feel I did somethings that the greater majority in this sport will never get to do and that is win my class at a pro qualifier and be in the overall for a pro card.
