Title: Question for the old school guys
Post by: Robert E. Lee on February 25, 2006, 08:08:20 PM
I've made the trip to Mecca.  (It was a long drive from Alabama).  Gold's Venice is cool, i met Jonnie Jackson.  My question is, whatever happened to the old hole in the wall place.  Is the building still there?  How many of you guys trained there?  And when did it move to its current location?

Gold's original location is at 1006 Pacific Avenue and the building is still there.

Gold's moved to 2nd street in Santa Monica in 1977-

It moved to Hampton Drive in late 80 early 81.

Pictures of all those locations are posted. Someone might want to locate them and repost them for the newbies.

You can actually rent the space that was the original location (on Pacific). It is a bar/club for private parties.

Edit: I should add; it was available in the late 90's. I'm not sure it still is. It was a nice lay out and excellent for parties.
