fake plates are used OFTEN for photo shoots. not just for mike but almost everyone does it. trying to portray bodybuilders as super strong to sell it to the masses. some really are strong. alot of pros are not strong though. paul dillet was probably the weakest pro i ever seen but he was massive. when you train heavy all the time your body has a different look than if you use lighter weights. not a bad look just different. i remember arnold saying once that when you train heavy all the time and pose your body doesnt change much during the poses. but if you train lighter and when you pose your muscles jump out even more. i believe in that.  anyways mikes hair is real i know mike. look thru some pics of other pros and you can see the fake weights. made from balso wood.
