Sean Penn: Commit tea partyers, Ted Cruz ‘by executive order’

If it weren’t for the tea party, Congress would work well, Hollywood actor Sean Penn said during a recent appearance on CNN with host Piers Morgan. And he also said tea partyers should be forcibly committed for mental health treatment.

Really, the tea party is to blame for nearly all of the issues facing Congress, he said, as Politico reported.

“I think they have — there’s a mental health problem in Congress,” Mr. Penn said. “This would be solved by committing them by executive order, I think. Because these are our American brothers and sisters, we shouldn’t be criticizing them, attacking them. … This is a cry for help.

Mr. Morgan encouraged Mr. Penn to continue: “You literally commit what, people like Ted Cruz?”

And Mr. Penn’s reply, as Politico reported: “He is my American brother. I think we should take care of him, he is in trouble.”

Mr. Morgan then double-checked if Mr. Penn mean to say that he wanted to forcibly commit Mr. Cruz for mental-health treatment.

“Yeah, I think it’s a good idea,” Mr. Penn said with a laugh, Politico reported.

Why is an actor a political guest?
Cause, you know, theyre so qualified to speak on such things.

oh yeah, I forgot, when they made a fortune by pretending to be someone theyre not, theyre suddenly experts in politics, cause theyve got money, and shit.

If it weren’t for the tea party, Congress would work well, Hollywood actor Sean Penn said during a recent appearance on CNN with host Piers Morgan.

On this point, Penn is correct. If the repubs = Boehnner + RINOS...  and dems = The current bunch...  Then yes, we do see huge strides in terms of "things getting accomplished".  The problem, of course, is that the crap they get accomplished would be more borrowing, more spending, more waste, and more pork.

ON THE OTHER HAND>>>

A congress that hates each other does seem to waste less.  Sure, the tea party falls into line on the big things (like the shutdown/budget) after they make their point.  But dems don't even try bullshit like amnesty or gun control, no bill, cause they  KNOW the repubs will shut it down and dance around celebrating in 2016 with it.

So if your name is Sean Penn, and you're a major liberal socialist, then yes, the lack of dem/rino cooperation taking place is troubling.

If you'd like to see the govt scale back spending, leave guns alone, and ignore amnesty, then you are cool with what tea party is doing.

WTF?! So just because he's an actor, he's not entitled to have a political opinion?

...says the man who once had a SAG actor as president, ...and a string of others ever since.

I'll say that perhaps actors are most suited to speak out politically. At least they have the ability to empasize and get into another man's skin, ...and walk a mile in another man's shoes,
which is a far cry more than todays crop of politicos are capable of doing.

ps: I'd also add that above all else, guys like Penn are indeed experts in politics.
If you ever spent a day in Hollywood, ...you'd know what I'm talking about. lol.

Speechless.  I can't even respond to the lunacy in this post.  Call Sean Penn and ask him to have you committed.  You are one of his brother's after all.  I can't even attack this it is so ridiculous.

theyre professional liars, and pretending to be a person on film is most certainly not "walking a mile in his shoes".

Yes, im sure these men in their ivory towers that have never had to experience real work, no real hardship, and have had literally ZERO knowledge of how shit works in the real world are certainly qualified to tell the rest of the citizens how they should vote/act/live, let alone have enough experience to be a good political guest.

Bu5 it is piers Morgan,  and id expect nothing less from that fat piece of shit.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion.  However, when a person has a history of violence and domestic abuse it's probably a good idea not to comment on the mental health of others.

Actually, truth be known, ...actors are professional truth tellers.
But that's a whole nother discussion. If you're not an actor or never have been an actor, I wouldn't expect you to understand that statement, and it would be too much to try to explain it to you here in this thread. It nevertheless takes nothing away from the veracity of which I speak.

I beg to differ tremendously. The man on top of the mountain, didn't just fall there.
Some actors are more in touch with everyday reality of the common man, sadly sometimes moreso than he  :'(

Piers Morgan isn't an actor. He's a talk show host, and blatant shill for the NWO, but he is no actor.

I can certainly understand that. I can remember as a kid not being able to enjoy a glass of Orange juice because every time I reached for one, I'd hear the mountains of bigoted rhetoric that spewed forth from their spokesperson.

I don't think the real issue here is whether or not he should have an opinion, or be allowed to voice it.

I think the most alarming thing is his opinion itself. The very idea of locking up political opponents?
...I'm sure it beats killing them (which under current legislation is now legal), ...but how can nobody be alarmed by such a suggestion? I don't know what's crazier... the suggestion, ...or the fact that such a suggestion was made, and people fail to see the significance of it. Trial balloons are being released all over the place and no one seems to be noticing, ...or if they are, ...they're not saying a word. Hello!!!

I say a lot of intelligent things, you just happen to disagree.   I'm probably the most unbiased person you will ever encounter. I am always amenable to a change of opinion if new evidence presents itself.  What I dislike more than anything is dishonesty, whether its intentional or ignorant self deception.

I definitely disagree with you self proclaimed "lack of bias"

From my perspective, you often see what you want to see.
To me that qualifies as (to use your words) ignorant self deception.

I disagree.   I don't delude myself with myths about how the world works and sometimes that hard for people to process.  The masses have become attached to their myths.

Tell me about it.  All they do is memorize lines and repeat them in make-believe scenarios.  Probably most of them are uneducated.  Many of them live in a bubble.  They're the last ones anyone should be listening too on political issues.

This is really funny.   :)
