Internet dating for guys is a nightmare. I've been on dating sites for 6 years and get very very
few responses and i'm not ugly hehe. You have to mail out dozens of emails to get any responses. I was on Plenty of Fish and got zero emails from women. I had to send out like 20 emails to get one response.
THen sometimes they stop writing back after a few exchanges.

Not my experience. I just wrote something nice and posted a few good pics of myself. Got a response more than 50% of the time after emailing them. And I got a fair amount of women that emailed me first... :)
If you're decent looking and come off as intelligent, articulate, and funny, it's like shooting fish in a barrel... :D

Yeah, my brother in law told me about it about 5 years ago. I was trying to make my marriage work at the time, so I didn't use it then.
When I first set up my profile it was for an "intimate encounter". I hardly got any hits that way. As soon as I changed it to "dating" and wrote something nice, it was like night and day. Women don't want to think they're just on there for fucking. As long as you show a little respect and demonstrate the ability to talk about something other than sex, it's all good. They always mention how they meet all these "assholes", lol. You just need show them that you're not "one of those" and your in like Flynn... ;D

it's not that he (or any of us) are limited to online dating
it's just that the whole scene has changed and the internet, love it or hate it, is a part of everyone's life
so, internet dating isn't really for those who can't pick up girls in real life...it is just a "supplement"
