Biden says Zelensky ignores warnings about attack; Kyiv does not agree
en.interfax.com.ua ^ | June 11, 2022
Posted on 6/13/2022, 3:36:53 PM by elpadre

U.S. President Joe Biden said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky ignored warnings that Russia would invade his country ahead of the February 24 aggression.

"I know a lot of people thought I was maybe exaggerating, but I knew, and we had data to sustain, he was going in off the border. There was no doubt. And Zelensky did not want to hear it, nor did a lot of people," Biden said on Friday during a political fundraiser in Los Angeles.

The U.S. president acknowledged that the possibility of Russian President Vladimir Putin launching a full-scale invasion may have seemed far-fetched, saying, "I understand why they didn't want to hear it." Biden accused Putin of "trying to obliterate the culture, not just the nation, but the culture" of Ukraine and said the Russian leader sees the capital of Kyiv as "the seat of mother Russia."

Adviser to the head of the President's Office Mykhailo Podoliak, in a comment circulated on Saturday, said Kyiv was aware of Russia's development of various expansion scenarios. "Volodymyr Zelensky always had relevant analytics on his desk, which was based on high-quality intelligence. The president also carefully reacted to all the words and warnings of our partners. The question has always been just how big will the invasion be? Without a doubt, the scale of the invasion that we saw on February 24 shocked many countries, including our partners," he said.

"Ukraine understood the intentions of the Russians, expected this or that aggressive scenario, prepared for it. This is evidenced, among other things, by the dispersal of ammunition depots and weapons in general, the lightning-fast reaction to multi-level invasions and the restructuring of defensive capabilities, the effective introduction of remote strikes in the first week, which sharply broke the initial Russian plans," he said.

"But what is important, since the speed with which the state administration was rebuilt on a war footing and the almost lightning-fast recovery of our country from shock. And finally, the key thing, it seems to me that it is absurd to blame a country that has been effectively fighting in a full-fledged war against a much more resourceful opponent for more than 100 days, if the key countries have not been able to preemptively stop the militaristic appetites of Russia, knowing them perfectly," he said.

White House says Biden sparked 'historic economic BOOM' - as stock market plunges into bear market amid record inflation, gas prices and recession fears - and claims Americans 'are well positioned to face these challenges' thanks to the President

The White House defended President Joe Biden's economic record on Monday as the nation experienced historic inflation, gas prices over $5 a galloon and the stock market dropping.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre argued President Biden actually made historic economic gains, which would help the American people go through these economic 'challenges.'

She blamed inflation - prices in May were 8.6% higher than a year earlier - the greatest increase since 1981 - on the covid pandemic and on Russian President Vladimir Putin's war in the Ukraine.

'You know, with this price, high inflation coming, coming out every once in a generation, global pandemic, all of those things play a factor,' Jean-Pierre said.

But, she argued, that America would bounce back under Biden.

'The American people are well positioned to face these challenges because of the economic historic gains that we have made under this president in the last six months,' she noted.

Closing Hell! NASDAQ Tanks -4.58%, 10Y Treasury Yield Spikes +22 Basis Points, 10Y-2Y Yield Curve Flattens To Near Zero (MBS Prices Pull A Titanic)

Not nibbling on baby formula, watching gasoline prices soar. Wasting away again in Biden/Powellville.

It was closing hell for a terrible day in markets as investors struggle to process the dreadful and seemingly endless inflation report on Friday.

What happened today? The NASDAQ tanked -4.58% and the 10-year Treasury yield jumped 22.2 basis points. Gulp.

The 22.2 bps jump in the 10-year Treasury yield has led to Agency MBS prices pulling a Titanic and sank.

Somehow, I don’t think that Biden and Congress are going to help the middle class and low-wage workers.

Legacy media is finally saying it out loud.  Primary campaigns would start in about 8 months.  ;D

Should Biden Run in 2024? Democratic Whispers of ‘No’ Start to Rise.

In interviews, dozens of frustrated Democratic officials, members of Congress and voters expressed doubts about the president’s ability to rescue his reeling party and take the fight to Republicans.

Midway through the 2022 primary season, many Democratic lawmakers and party officials are venting their frustrations with President Biden’s struggle to advance the bulk of his agenda, doubting his ability to rescue the party from a predicted midterm trouncing and increasingly viewing him as an anchor that should be cut loose in 2024.

As the challenges facing the nation mount and fatigued base voters show low enthusiasm, Democrats in union meetings, the back rooms of Capitol Hill and party gatherings from coast to coast are quietly worrying about Mr. Biden’s leadership, his age and his capability to take the fight to former President Donald J. Trump a second time.

Interviews with nearly 50 Democratic officials, from county leaders to members of Congress, as well as with disappointed voters who backed Mr. Biden in 2020, reveal a party alarmed about Republicans’ rising strength and extraordinarily pessimistic about an immediate path forward.

Biden to address inflation as economists predict Fed will set aggressive interest rate hike
cnn ^ | 6/14/2022 | By Kate Sullivan and Arlette Saenz, CNN
Posted on 6/14/2022, 11:13:32 AM by RomanSoldier19

President Joe Biden on Tuesday will seek to reassure the American people that tackling the worst inflation the nation has seen in decades remains his “top priority” when he addresses the AFL-CIO convention in Philadelphia, a White House official tells CNN.

The speech comes a day before the Federal Reserve could raise interest rates as much as three-quarters of a percentage point as it attempts to get inflation under control. The issue has been bedeviling Biden and his White House for months after they downplayed inflation concerns last year.

But without many options to fight price hikes, the President is expected on Tuesday to focus on drawing a contrast between his economic policies and the plan put forward by the leader of the Senate Republicans’ campaign arm, Sen. Rick Scott of Florida. The President has been leaning into criticizing what he describes as an “ultra-MAGA agenda” on the right as part of his messaging heading into November’s midterm elections.

Gas prices too high? It’s all part of Biden’s plan to eliminate fossil fuels
NY Post ^ | June 13, 2022 | Betsy McCaughey
Posted on 6/14/2022, 12:35:18 PM

If you think gas prices are high now, just wait. They’re going much higher, thanks to President Biden’s “irreversible” plan to eliminate fossil fuels. Truth is, your pain at the pump is being planned and executed by the White House.

Over the weekend, buyers paid $5 a gallon or roughly $100 bucks to fill the tank.

Gas prices have doubled since Biden took office. J.P. Morgan analysts predict $6 a gallon by August. And experts warn this crisis will continue even after Biden’s term ends because he’s dismantling fossil fuel production.

When Biden was running for president, he promised to shut down oil producers: “No ability for the oil industry to continue to drill, period.” He pledged to put the country on “an irreversible” path toward “doing away with” fossil fuels.

On Day One as president, Biden shut down the Keystone pipeline, sending a message of no new pipelines anywhere, period.

In the months that followed, he stopped all sales of leases to drill on federal lands or offshore, meaning zero new leases allowing oil to be brought out of the ground.

And in September, House Democrats introduced legislation to stop banks from lending money or investing capital for new or expanded fossil fuel production. That legislation hasn’t passed, but it sent a clear message. The oil industry is being shut down.

Watch: Biden Advisor Says Social Media Should Silence Anyone Who Criticises Green Energy “Transition”
Zubu Brothers ^ | 6-14-2022 | Steve Watson via Summit News,
Posted on 6/14/2022, 6:34:21 PM by blam

One of Joe Biden’s senior advisors told a reporter this week that social media companies should be cracking down on and censoring anyone who speeds information critical of the administration’s so called ‘green energy transition’.

National climate advisor Gina McCarthy made the comments in an interview with a reporter for Axios, stating “Now it’s not so much denying the problem. What the [fossil fuel] industry is now doing is seeding doubt about the costs associated with [green energy] and whether they work or not.”

She continued, “We need the tech companies to really jump in,” on “disinformation,” noting that criticising a green energy transition upheaval is “equally dangerous to denial,” and adding “we have to move fast.”

The Axios interviewer just nodded in agreement without any pushback.

Watch:

Top Biden advisor Gina McCarthy says social media companies should censor content that is critical of their green energy “transition” pic.twitter.com/qfh1Cxe7NG

— RNC Research (@RNCResearch) June 14, 2022

The Wall Street Journal reported on the comments, noting “Some conservative scholars argue that Big Tech companies could be sued as “state actors” for violating users’ First Amendment speech rights when they censor content at the behest of government officials. Ms. McCarthy is helping make their case.”

As we highlighted recently, Joe Biden has admitted, using rhetoric identical to Davos ‘great reset’ elites, that unaffordable gas prices in the U.S. are part of a deliberate “transition” to green energy.

I thought he was fixing that? https://t.co/UdiTHrYNb1

— Steve Franklin (@MyGuySteve) May 23, 2022

[ZH: Perhaps they have good reason to tamp down this groundswell of realization as the cost of the “net zero” Grand Reset transition will be $150 trillion (with a ‘T’).

In case you believe that is just ‘conspiracy theory’ wonks spreading disinformation, it was actually Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen at her keynote address at COP26

Glasgow and COP26 is a pivotal moment at the start of this decisive decade of climate action. The climate crisis is already here. This is not a challenge for future generations, but one we must confront today.

Rising to this challenge will require the wholesale transformation of our carbon-intensive economies. It’s a global transition for which we have an estimated/B> price tag: some have put the global figure between $100 and $150 trillion over the next three decades. At the same time, addressing climate change is the greatest economic opportunity of our time.

These numbers are simply staggering, and as Yellen concedes, “The gap between what governments have and what the world needs is large, and the private sector needs to play a bigger role.”

Imagine the ‘shared sacrifice’ that you will all be asked to pay in the name of funding this farce? Now that is a good reason for government to silence anyone who dares tell the truth.
