He was a very powerful man.   Sad that he passed away at such an early age.

All round big dude.

I forget which year it was, he had the WSM title won if he finished the last event. I think it was some sort of moving event, and he slipped or something.
But then again its quite possible its just my bad memory and it never happened. Ill have to go find that out...

O.D. Wilson, also known as "Nightmare," was an incredibly massive man and came very close to being the first American since Bill Kazmaier to win the title of World's Strongest Man. He lost in 1990 by just half a point to Jon Pall Sigmarsson.

I remember O.D. from powerlifting. I didn’t really follow strongman but he was a monster of a man.

He felt he had more pure static strength than Jon Pall Sigmarsson, and that's probably correct.

A lot of competitors did. Sigmarsson won with speed and endurance.

"On October 29, 1991, while being interviewed on a radio program just a few weeks after the 1991 World's Strongest Man competition, Wilson complained of chest pains and went outside for some fresh air. Within moments, he collapsed and died of cardiac arrest. He was just 37 years old."

Sorry I wasn’t arguing. I just remember him being that size 700 pound bench and being disqualified for wrist wraps. More of a déjà vu I guess.
