Actually I think that's how they tell the difference between gays and straight guys in some places.  You hand them the instrument, if they call it a fiddle they are straight.  If they call it a violin....well, you know.

fiddle means he has no teeth.

So Rockers who had hair like women and dressed like fags from the village people and wore chaps and all that aren't gay. But a guy who dresses like he has self respect is.
