Season 2 of TXF was my favorite. I started watching during that season in 1994.

Love it!

She hasn't aged that great but I'd still shovel pig poop against the tide to stick my nose up Dana Sculley's fine crack

I think she has aged very well. Hasn't gone in for endless plastic surgery, and acquired that Mannequin look, that a lot of women her age go for in hollyweird.

47. she looks great. appears to be aging gracefully which makes a nice change from the usual hideous botox and over stretched and featurless face skin of most actresses her age.

best show ever in its prime.

What? She's hot as hell for an older chick. Did you see her on"The Fall"? Hot and a nympho.

Scully was cute as hell early in season 1, then she got pregnant. They spent most of season 2 trying to hide the weight gain. Then she got even better... late season 5 early season 6 if I recall? That was her peak IMO.

Season 6:

In before Wiggs declares it was originally an all black male cast and women of any color except black and was called the seX-Files".  Yup.

And Scully is still a very beautiful woman.

If they take it in a more serious direction, I wonder if they'll make any reference to the past, or just try and forget how hokie it started to get?

Maybe but seems like they will go to the new age, do the same shit everybody else is doing. Don't expect much from this. I'll watch the first episode but if it won't blow my mind I'll just keep watching very well done truth videos in youtube. Lets face it, we already know what's going to happen in the new x files

I'm going to tell you guys why you should watch the first episode and after that quit it, lol.

the first episode was really intriguing. It had nice scenes where they discussed about the 1%, military industrial complex, governments excessive control on everybody's information and that the roswell incident was real, but the abductions are done by people in the government who use the alien technology to stage all sorts of incidents and events.

The first ridiculous scene was in the beginning where Mulder explained why the alien came on earth. The first used atomb bomb openned up some sort of "thing" in space and attracted other species here to help us or something.

That's where the so so entertainment value stopped and they changed the storyline almost completely. After the first episode there's been nothing but unrelated episodes of shapesifting people and whatever else from the 90's, but this time kind of telling you to go back to the first episode, because it's the alien dna testing world wide that makes people mutate and change, lol.

That's pretty much the new x-files.

Show is no longer about aliens and almost seemed like they made a spoof about the idea of people being abducted by them all in all the show is almost a mochery still confused.

I've seen at least ten episodes of Supernatural that were better than the first few episodes of this reboot.  They better wrap it up spectacularly.  >:(

So far the new espisodes sucked bigtime.

It was terrible, same as Star Wars, same problem.  Older actors don't hold up.  Terrible and tired looking.  Duchovny musta got tired of plowing Tea Leoni.  And the redhead Scully has moved on to the final form of Bitchy Resting Face, Mannish Resting Face.  No wonder Getbig likes.

First movie was a decent bridge between the two seasons. Second movie was rather corny like the later X files episodes were.

I never go past season 6 when I re-watch the series. I've been hesitant to watch these new eps especially when I'm hearing mixed/negative reviews.

Mulder  "something weird just happened"
Scully "I didn't see anything"
Mulder "it happened again, didnt you see it"
Scully  "no , nothing at all, are you sure it happened"

etc,etc,etc........

That just about covers every episode they ever made.

You think after the first season she would start believing him, weird shit happens every week and every week shes not convinced.
Title: Re: X-Files is back
Post by: Nether Animal on February 17, 2016, 01:08:29 AM
Yeah, she always gives Mulder cursory resistance even though by the end of the first season she had seen enough herself. It did get rather formulaic at times now that I think about it, but the show still had great writing. Many episodes felt like mini-movies the production values were so good once they hit their stride after season 2 (even though season 2 is my favorite).

Sculdy has aged quite well.

I'd like to see Muldy lose a few lbs as well as not have that defeated/given up look David Duchovny has had for the last decade.

If they could pull off another "Home" that would be 👍

I thought parts of E3 lizard guy were hilarious

The garbage man in E4 was definitely a getbigger

Scully got ripped but Mulder went the offseason way.

If it would be the reverse, and Scully added a few pounds here and there (glutes, hips, thighs), and Mulder lost a few pounds (becoming as ripped as Mutzer) the series would go places.

Maybe have a tad higher budget for special effects as well.

Watched another episode last night. About terrorist bombers.
I am certain this 10th season is a mockery of the real X-Files. Hope they make some soft porn scenes between Mulder and Scully.

Devilsmile,

The last episode on Monday (Episode 6) is going to be part two to this.

That was the plan.

1. "My Struggle"
2. "Founder's Mutation"
3. "Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster"
4. "Home Again"
5. "Babylon"
6. "My Struggle II"

Episodes 1 and 6 are alien mythology arc. Episodes 2-5 are standalone episodes.

Don't miss part two. 8)

There were two movies.

Which one are you referring to?

The first movie was great. The second was weird and felt like a two-part TV episode.

The spinoff show, Millennium, was/is one of my favorite shows of all time.

Millenium was so damn cool! Really dark show, I wonder why it stopped.

There aren't any shows like that now are there? True Detective s01 was great in that respect

Glad I didn't bother. I knew this would happen... too much modern programming and films try too hard to bank on nostalgia. In other words "THIS USED TO EXIST, WOW!" without any real thought going into whether or not people would care about the new season 20 years down the line.

For hardcore X-files fans, it was a great experience. Was it better than the original series? No.

But if you were never a huge xfiles fan to begin with, then its going to be easy to pick it apart. It definitely is worth watching if you love xfiles and science fiction.

I grew up watching the show, and am a huge fan of the first six seasons.

Which is one reason why I was afraid to get near this. I didn't want to be disappointed, and it didn't help that 90% of the feedback I was hearing was negative.

Your opinion has given me some hope.

Some things were just magic as you were younger.

The X Files to me was almost like a documentary feel. The great charm was that I explored the notion of aliens and mystic stuff in that period and you felt like "the truth" really was "out there".

Now it's all internet and google era where you can check everything and everything is "out there" to be seen. You see an actor and search the imdb pics and the magic is gone. So I think the original generation is too old for it and the new one is not impressed.

I miss being open minded.

I hope VR is taking me to new places soon, some real intense experiences almost like the greatest of them all, dreams.

Yeah it's true. People have always lived in the myth. Now days people are born in a society that doesn't have history. I agree with a lot what C.G Jung said that not living in the myth is not even normal, for example now days people's expectations have risen to unnatural levels, thanks to fast access to information or whatever else. Anything you want to know, anything you want to have you can find from your pocket. There is no higher meaning to anything anymore.
