Get one of these. I remember back in the day these watches were awesome. Everyone had one

Or for a night out on the town, the gold casio watch may be more appropriate, especially on a date

Grandpa had an old pocket watch that he got from a train conductor who operated the rail line between Normandy and Versailles before the big war.  I still remember when Grandpa asked us to fetch it from his pockets.  It was always a game and the lucky one got to get it out of his pants.

N how much you looking to spend?

Doing a quick search on Amazon I've come up with these:

$95  http://www.amazon.com/Invicta-1517-Force-Collection-Chronograph/dp/B005FN00PM/ref=sr_1_2?s=watches&ie=UTF8&qid=1355686867&sr=1-2&keywords=invicta+watch

$169 http://www.amazon.com/Invicta-10505-Corduba-Polyurethane-Watch/dp/B007HN81P4/ref=pd_sbs_watch_2

I personally like military(ish) style as my casual/cheap day to day watches:

Fellas I'm looking for 60mm or at least 55mm face watches. And not plastic band either, looks a bit childish. Preferably leather (doesn't have to be genuine). I've been searching the web since yesterday, they're either over priced or hard to find. Price range I'm looking for is between $100-$200, more than than is a waste of money since I have more than 10 watches.

Parker - that website you posted dude, sick watches hands down! It is affordable but is it worth the money ya know?

On a side note, two things I've noticed 'weekend broads' like about men. One is watches, and two is money clips!

I like odd watches, I like how the designers come up with different ways to present the time. But, I also like the vintage way as well. I like the grey Alessi, the IM watch by droid, and the "Remember , You Will Die" watch by MJW, a standard looking watch, but has a grim way of looking at the time.

Japanese design from the 80s, light, basic, rugged and cheap yet classy and manly enough to be worn whatever your clothes. Gives you hour, date, alarm chrono, you can keep them having a shower...and that's fucking about it in 99.99% of your daily needs.
I have three of them for the next decades.

When i get older i ll probably buy that version: (http://www.casareloj.com/presta/318-1160-thickbox/a158wea-casio-mens-watch-steel-digital-illuminator.jpg)

When i was a kid my grandmother always bought me huge expensive watches i didnt even know how to use and that i always lost, got stolen or destroyed under 6 months. Was dumb to buy that stuff for kids but my grandmother always was all appearences and no substance. Fortunately grandfather knew how to keep her in check and down to earth enough to not be consumed by her extremities.

Then as a teen i bought myself lighter , more basic versions of these watches
(http://distantfuturejosh.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/f91w-1_xlarge1.jpg) I always thought the square, minimalist designs of these watches looked like the design of cars, computers etc in tv shows i was watching (knight rider, etc) and made me feel being part of the modern world, an "adult".

and as an adult, i just bought the same kind of watches but with stainless steel band and case cause the plastic bands used to break appart after one or two years of use and exposition to water. I dont like the rounder versions of these watches or round watches in general as i find them "girly". Also i dont have the time to waste when i look at my watch to read that analog nonsense, hence preferring digital ones.
I have always bought casio watches, dunno why tho. Probably cause they were my first watches, but to be honnest, i think that's just because their design were just superior to everything else other made until now.

It's funny to understand as you age how you ve been conditionned by your loved ones to prefer something over something else.
I never was into buying big stuff for the sole purpose of showing off, instead i always looked for what was strictly necessary and got the job done ; doesnt mean it had to look ugly tho. I ve kept applying this to everything i bought and even to my way of thinking overtime.

They are so ugly and heavy your probably dont even wear them most of the time, they just stay there in a little gay chest all year long while you wear something more convenient. You probably wear them once in a while as a way to look richer than you actually are and hoping to impress gullible people in the street who are as superficial as you. That's a great way to know what kind of man/person you have in front of you, just look at his watch (or car). Often you realize it has nothing to do with his financial status as most of them are in debt to be able to buy several of these pieces of crap. Same insecure and annoying useless people who drive huge gaz guzzling trucks in cities btw.

The market is being flooded with high end counterfeit watches made in China being sold on the internet. When you see a 20 something kid that lives with his mom with a $6000 dollar watch that he paid $600 bucks for it's a fake. I talked to to a watch repair guy and he said just about every "high end" watch in for repairs is a Chinese rip off.

10. 2 Kings 2:23-24
NKJV

Then he went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up the road, some youths came from the city and mocked him, and said to him, “Go up, you baldhead! Go up, you baldhead!” So he turned around and looked at them, and pronounced a curse on them in the name of the LORD. And two female bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the youths.

Grandpa had an old pocket watch that he got from a train conductor who operated the rail line between Normandy and Versailles before the big war.  I still remember when Grandpa asked us to fetch it from his pockets.  It was always a game and the lucky one got to get it out of his pants.

Casio is quality, but geez, sometimes you sound really "oldschool"/old in the head, and you're just in your 30's (if I'm not mistaken)..

Plenty of nice watches of other brands, some are really a state of art engineering which makes one think of how much of a precision is required to achieve that product.

I'd never feel comfortable wearing something this extravagant. I feel paranoid just wearing my $800 wedding band by itself.

ha!... how'd I miss this... i'm wearing that same uboat Sly is wearing in the pic. lol... it's not my fav though. the little round cylinder thing that unscrews to change time/date will dig into the forearm a lil if i'm holding water. it's 50mm, and I have a stainless steel with red numbers/hands as well (with a rubber strap). Def not my fav's, but I got a good deal.... the strap on the black is probabl the my fav strap (next to my panerai). my wish is to put a similar strap on a Submariner (stainless, and probably with a black dial/bezel... although the blue's are tempting as well, just don't know how it'll look with a black strap... only bad part is I wouldn't have the rolex clasp on the U-boat-style strap like a Daytona strap :-\ )

Am I the only one here who likes small and understated watches? This is a $350 Citizen light powered watch. The big giant watch fad seems to be fading out.

Other than the Deepsea at 44mm Rolex has stayed conservative size wise.

It's the Deep Sea Challenge not the Sea Dweller. Thing's huge think it retails for around 40K if you can get one. Here it is next the  Sea Dweller.

My newest to the collection.

Cant drop the money on a Submariner, so I did the next best thing and got a Tudor Heritage Black Bay.

3k vs 7k...

Also in the collection is an older Panerai "005"

Previous watches include an Omega Planet Ocean, A Rolex Milgauss for a VERY short period, and a very vintage Omega Seamaster.

Challenge was an experimental watch that Rolex sent down with the Challenger.   Deepsea is not a Sea Dweller.

Sea Dwellers are very cool. I used to love GMT's but I cant get passed the font on the bezel insert anymore.

Vintage Rolex will be my hobby once I am very rich.

15 would be a great deal if it is the quick set with solid links.   I had to get a few extra links because of my fat wrists and they were around $650 each.

It was. He showed me the receipt it retailed for 24K. His mom worked for the owner so he got it for around 22? I would never wear a gold watch but I was very tempted to buy it.

Grandpa had an old pocket watch that he got from a train conductor who operated the rail line between Normandy and Versailles before the big war.  I still remember when Grandpa asked us to fetch it from his pockets.  It was always a game and the lucky one got to get it out of his pants.

Got my son a wind up pocket watch for his communion. Only gold plated (the fuck I was spending a few thousand on that) but it is something he will appreciate and remember when older, unlike the other toys which or cash which had no thought to them.

Fucking hate how spoiled kids are now (not the kid's fault) - it means that no toy or present stands out as they get them week in week out without earning it or any thoughtful present drifts into a faded memory with 100 other toys bought.

Should have gotten him a getbig account for his communion. Getbig is the gift that keeps on giving throughout one's whole life.
