In April 2004, Satullo was driving his girlfriend to work in Atlanta before stopping to break up an attempted rape. He was shot three times in the neck during the incident, resulting in Satullo requiring a metal plate and three stainless steel screws inserted into his C–5, C–6 and C–7 vertebrae.[citation needed].[9]
Satullo claimed that he would return to the ring on September 17, 2004 to work a match for Goodman, the promoter of USA Pro Wrestling. However, he later no-showed the event, claiming that the doctors would not clear him to wrestle. He was also originally scheduled to appear at the Hardcore Homecoming event in Philadelphia, but he did not appear and later refused to take any more bookings, saying that he was not medically cleared to wrestle.
Since then, Satullo has seemingly disappeared from public view and has not been seen in several years. Family, friends, and his three ex-wives have no information or clue to his whereabouts. Furthermore, due to the fact that he missed the funerals of two of his good friends (Chris Candido and John Kronus) and the funeral of his mentor and father figure Killer Kowalski, some fear that he might be dead.[10] Recently, it was reported that he was last spotted in Iowa almost two years ago and while it's believed he is working in a door manufacturing plant in Albert Lea, Minnesota, calls to his supposed employer are not answered.[11]

Good question though...where is Perry Saturn? He was another one the WWE used terribly. He had the look, the muscularity and he was a good wrestler.

-- For those wondering, Perry Saturn is indeed alive. A photo recently surfaced on Facebook.com of the former wrestling star standing alongside a woman by the name of Lisa Kuhlemeier, whom he's believed to be married to. While he's gained a bit of weight, it's clearly him.

True. Nobody ever really comes back from that type of drug addiction and is like they were before. He was great in ECW.

I loved Perry in WCW, when him and Benooit teamed up, they were the team to beat. Benoit's technical ability and Perry's brawler technique.....then WWE screwed him with the Mopey skit.......
Watch old ECW footage, he had a decent physique then someone showed him AAS, John Kronos maybe and then he suddenly blew up....

yeh...I don't agree with it. The guy was way too talented to be wasted like that. It kinda backfired on them, as he got the gimmick over pretty well.

You know, I've watched that match several times.
Accidents happen.
I've seen mishaps a lot worse in matches, and if they can, the guys just brush it off and keep going.
Maybe Perry had a red ass over being relegated to working a dark match at a big event.
Conversely, the bump that Mike Bell took (the one Saturn got all the heat for), I don't know if you can blame that entirely on Saturn.
Bell's story was that he took a bad bump through the ropes because Saturn's "offense" right before that was unexpected and wrecked his concentration.
If Bell had taken the bump amidst the wreckless confusion, the matter would be more cut & dry.
But, there was a good pause between Saturn's flurry of swings and the toss.
Being thrown from the ring is often among the early basics they teach rookie trainee's - usually, so that they have extra "bodies" for battle royals, which are extremely simple to do.
Bottom line is: accidents happen, and guys can pull shitty, bitch moves in the ring.
You need to be able to deal with both, and if you can't work or "concentrate" in those conditions, you really need to rethink being a wreslter.

Saturn was another guy who had the look and talent but was so misused both by WCW and worse yet the WWE (with that stupid mop....gimme a break ::)) His best tenure was with the original ECW thanks to Paul Heymen.
