This is one reason why I am glad that Tim Fogarty and Primemuscle were both ran off the board. Primemuscle is a bit more of an actual liberal person in terms of being reasonable and fair - Tim Fogarty was the type of person to actually defend Islam, which is a mind-boggling thing considering that he is a gay man. ::) The fact that you have a gay man who defends Islam blows me away - I'm sure someone could easily pull up a list of countries where homosexuality is punishable by death. All of these countries are Islamic countries. But Tim would probably say something like "But not all Islamic countries are homophobic. And look at this Talk Radio program with a White Christian person who says he doesn't want men dressed as women in the girl's washroom" as "evidence" of rampant Western homophobia. ::)
It takes a certain degree of cluelessness to be a gay man while defending Islam like that. Primemuscle is far more reasonable, and would be opposed to the way that certain Islamic countries treat gays, as it is not the genuinely liberal way to treat people. Tim's views are just weird. Tim didn't really defend Islam but he seemed to see Islam just like any other religion which is a naive view to hold imo. I think Tim's defence of Muslims was partly down to him having fucked/dated Arab men who might have identified as being Muslim. It's a shame he doesn't post here anymore since he was a pleasant fella with an advanced knowledge on bodybuilding. I also think that having posters with varying political beliefs is good for the board.
