Yates was the only guy who didn't come outside/in the lobby area (after pre-judging,during intermissions,before the night show) since before this show noone had ever heard of him/saw him ..........he truly was "The Shadow"

Bro i was SO dissapointed! ......before this show (my first!) i had idolized all these guys and was convinced they were bigger than life!...........imagine my surprise when i towered over them all

i was in shock..................(over there THAT'S Chris Dickerson!?!!?!?)
wait there is Francois Benfatto (in street clothes they looked like ordinary people)

only Jim Quinn (who was repping Twinlab and not competing impressed me)

Danny was 40 there, right? He also did the Niagara pro, where he came 2nd to Eddie Robinson that year. Looked fantastic.

really good stuff from mike ,probably the best post on the board now cause he backs it up with real pics and not junk.this great for any bbing fan past and present.

that pic of newman i remember sick and way down and out,when he recovered and rebounded he was almost back to being great again,he was probably pushing the extreme ends to get his pro card and after his comeback could'nt probably push it too hard anymore.in that pic with demayo ,paul is at his best at least size wise and even though newman is really ill and small his structure is still better than pauls and you can see how he could regain all his size again and would outsize demayo.its a shame really that either one due to health reasons could not go head to head as pros and suceed.
