yes i was there!........................(got lot's more i could scan/onstage pics not just of me with competitors)

Mike, you've met a lot of the pros in the 80's & 90's, how did you get all these pics with them, did you personally know any of them?

How were the majority of these pros, approachable?

The pros that i know/knew were mostly local Amateur guys that just so happened to turn professional (i was manager at a niteclub where Mike Matarazzo's wife was a bartender/Mike used to come in all the time and we became "friends") i worked at another niteclub (Palace) where Paul Demayo's best friend worked (teddy hanley) Paul came in all the time and later i worked (bounced) with Paul at another club in Salem Mass)i trained at a gym (golds gym everett mass) where a lot of top amateurs and pros trained........the bodybuilding "scene" is a fairly small tight-knit group.......Jay Cutler trained at another gym (nautilus plus billerica) that i went to
so you kinna always ran into these guys

You knew Ken Wheeler the amateur, before he became Flex Wheeler the next Mr O?

You knew De Mayo pretty well, then, always one of my favorite amateurs/pros, what kinda guy was he?

Back in the day (late 80's early 1990's) bodybuilding was imensely popular (it was all over TV)
It was a great great time in my life (i thought it was "normal" to go to the Gym and see Matarazzo and Demayo training)
The guys that i "looked up to" were guys like Rich Gaspari,Lee Haney,Berry Demey,Mike Christian, i had no idea some of these guys that i saw every day were going to be "legends" in the sport

No...............i met "Ken" when i traveled to Venice and befriended Chris Cormier (Chris was way cool, hung out while there, invited me to club that he bounced at (roxy the roxy something like that)
Flex ...................long story (suffice to say we didn't hit it off too well)

Paul DEmayo was very funny actually! (sarcastic.......great sense of humor)
always had a "chip on his shoulder tho (used to give me tons of free Met-Rx tho!)
really good guy

He was great at his prime, perfect shape, full bellies, no weaknesses.

Weak mind, though.
