It's Boxing so unfortunately Jake Paul. MMA Askren unless he gets slept in the first two seconds again!
Yes, exactly. I don't know much about Jake Paul, but I think he may be a professional boxer. Basically like getting an IFBB pro card, when that actually meant something.
But as far as I know, Jake Paul is a boxing pro, or otherwise experienced in boxing, even if not at the highest level [but still higher than Ben Askren].
I think Jake Paul is the brother of, or otherwise related to, the YouTuber who went to Japan's suicide forest and stumbled upon the body of someone who had committed suicide, and filmed it and uploaded it to YouTube. His name may be Logan Paul. At first, I thought it was Logan Paul fighting Ben Askren, and I didn't realize that the guy actually fighting [Jake - in the OP picture / thread topic] has a background in boxing.
I'm not sure why Ben Askren is taking this fight other than that maybe he knows that combat fighters have a limited shelf life, and perhaps there is a lot of money in this.
Enough money could be worth it. I wonder why Ben didn't make it conditional on organizing a wrestling match with Jake Paul on another date, after the boxing match is over. This would bring in some more money, and allow Jake and Ben to both win one and lose one. Especially if Jake wins the boxing match first [which I assume he will, as he has more experience in pure boxing than Ben does], and proves he can beat a high level fighter [former UFC fighter]. That could then be used to hype the wrestling match, which Ben would win handily.
For Ben to go into this, presumably knowing he is fighting the superior boxer and will lose, makes me think he is getting paid a lot of money for this fight.
Or maybe he genuinely doesn't understand that just being the better fighter overall does not make him the better striker/boxer.
