Tycoon Tony Santic, who owns triple Melbourne Cup winner Makybe Diva, has been forced to part with a gold mine of cash, luxury cars, mansions and penthouse apartments in the split with ex-wife Christine.
The carve-up of Mr Santic's bulging $200 million empire includes a fleet of BMWs, Lexus 4WDs and a prized convertible red Mustang with the number plate MAKYBE.
About $10 million in cash and an $8.4 million property portfolio - including the $2.5 million marital home and a $2 million apartment - were also at stake.
And it's been revealed Mrs Santic, the family's former cleaning lady, wanted a slice of her ex-husband's lucrative fishing licence - the backbone of his tuna and racing fortune.
Sources said the Santic marriage ended on the eve of Christmas in 2006 when she ordered domestic staff to shift his belongings out of their Port Lincoln mansion.
"It was all very clinical. Tony was in tears. He was saying: 'What have I done? What is wrong with her'?" a business associate said.
"I'd never seen Tony cry before. He tried to rekindle it but she just wasn't interested."
Mrs Santic is said to have pocketed up to $100 million in the split.
