Phils lines just seem odd to me nearly aesthetic but really bad balance, jay is an abomination. Gary's back was terrible, just one of those things i guess.

I think it's phil's Obliques, I also think it's the 'slin as well. Phil is like someone took Flex and Levrone and spliced them together---
in some poses he looks Phil-nominal, and others it's "meh", like I think he's light in the legs when he is doing a 3/4 or to the side---his hams...but then when he does a BDB, they look ok.

It's never the most aesthetic one that wins the O in the modern era (except Dex).

Mike Quinn   He could have made top 3 for sure if he didnt join WBF later. He actually looked the BEST in 91 and 92 when he won WBF.

Or how about Aaron Baker, who was far more complete than Gary, but got shafted due to his affiliation with WBF? Or how about Paul Dillett? Or even Victor Richards who never competed, but every year there is about 5 threads started about Victor. And Mike Francois beat Nasser and Sherman at the 94 NOC, and he beat Flex at the 95 Arnold, one thing that Gary could never do.
I could go on, but Gary is nothing more than a footnote in bbing history, not great, not legendary, just a footnote...
