Nate said in the press conference that he's faster, stronger and more durable now at this weight, so from that stand point nate doesn't have any excuses if he loses. And I hope conor won't have excuses neither if he walks into nate's punches and gets dropped.

He's tough as hell and has been around forever and is not going to let Connor get in his head. The guys brain is so fried that he probably doesn't even get half of what Connor is saying.

You will start seeing more and more people doing this at weigh ins. It's to keep your opponent from getting in your face. I would extend my arm like that during a stare down. In real life growing up whenever someone got in my face like that it always leads to a push.

Yes, I would do away with the horse stance and I wouldn't make it so obvious. Just sort of how fighters extend their arm with an open hand gauging distance. And if someone hit my hand away like Conor did I wouldn't exacerbate the situation. I'd just take the high road and lay back. By then people will start jumping in to prevent a scuffle.
Save the fighting for the octagon. Nothing is solved by rolling around on stage other than risking injury or in Jon Jones' case, losing his Nike contract.

Diaz has a serious reach advantage on McGregor. McGregor reminds me of the Iceman in that he is a one trick pony in that he is a striker only. I think McGregor is primed to get caught on the ground. I'm rooting for him though because with so many boring fighters he brings some excitement to the fights.

Lazy for a world class athlete. Just like B.J. Penn lazy. Nate gets high everyday and has that constant stoner look and speech. Other than Dana White saying that Nate was training for a Triathlon, there is no mention or record of Nate ever competing in a Triathlon. It's Nick that is the cardio king and loves Triathlons and prefers that to fighting if he could get paid doing it.
And Diaz has been out of shape in some of his fights. He couldn't even make weight when he fought RDA, one of the biggest fights in his career. Look at him after his open workout. He's the only one that is winded when speaking to the commentator.
We'll see how it goes but it's a disadvantage for him to be taking such a fight with someone of Conor's caliber on such short notice. There's a reason why the other fighters didn't want to step up. They believe they'll get a shot at Conor eventually and want the odds as much in their favor as possible. If you were a top contender would you want to take a fight on 11 days notice? With Nate, he really doesn't have much to lose as he's fading. He's only had two fights since the Maynard fight in Nov. 2013.
I've never been a fan of the Diaz brothers but I really want Nate to do well. I still want Conor to win because he makes the sport exciting but I want him to get beat up. You're right about the sheer volume of strikes both brothers put out. And I want to see it all on Conor's face.

Conor truly is the man, tho. No excuses. He went up to 170 after constantly dieting down to a crack addict 145, that has to take a toll on ya. But he put everything in the line which noone dares to do these days.
Floyd mayweather never fought GGG, if conor was in mayweathers position he would have fought GGG all day. People need to respect that. Conor is still a champion in my eyes, I'm not a fan boy per se, I just love it when one is willing to reach for his goal even if it means falling first and not give excuses after wards.

Dana wanted Connor to take an easier fight via Faber but Connor took Diaz because he knew the publicity for that fight would score him more points. Connors loss gives back some control to the UFC. I think Ronda was more of a company girl while Connor was a loose cannon. Now that cannon had its fuse cut. At the press conference Connor quietly announced that he would be defending his belt. No more brash requests or predictions.
