He's probably one of the very few pros actually getting paid good money to be a pro and it's because he is entertaining and making a scene. Draw a crowd, get a lot of cash. If it's ever going to be more popular than it is right now, it's going to be via guys like Kai.
No it's bodybuilding's fault. People don't generally care about oiled men in posing trunks. They care about feeling good, looking good towards the opposite sex, and how much weight they can lift in the gym. Again, increasing entertainment value is the only thing that is going to making bbing more popular. Do you actually think people would start swarming pro bbing events if everyone just stood up there and hit the manditories?
Kai's posing is like that, it's exactly that-an expression of his personality. Give me a stage with 15 competitors who all put their personalities into their posing routines and take a lot of time and effort doing it and I'll give you a good show. Bbing still won't be popular to the mainstream, but it would be more entertaining-which is what it is about or there wouldn't even be a posing to music round.

This wasn't one of Kai's most entertaining routines. It started off great with the horror-type outfit, but there really wasn't enough posing. A Lee Labrada makes sure that the creatibe moves he's hitting are also somewhat posing shots, as this is a muscle show after all. Kai's dancing for 80% of this and that does get stale.
