Title: Eli Manning 84 Mill Over 4 101.5 for 5 Possible
Post by: jugheadjones on September 10, 2015, 03:07:33 PM
Giants, Eli Manning working out final details of 4-year, $84M extension

are you kidding me? This must be a well you have won us championships so heres a lot of money, but you arent good anymore. I just dont feel he has it anymore and is on a severe downslope of his career. I also dont know who they have waiting in the wings to qb so maybe this is their only hope.

Have you looked at the state of quarterback free agency? If you've got a guy that can throw a spiral out past 10 yards, you lock that shit up.

Same.  I really should have went out for the NFL.  I think I have a solid 40 time...probably under 6.2 easy.  The travel and injuries kept me from trying out though.

Pretty good for an average water-head quarterback...

Haven't watched a lot of the Giants games but hasn't his offensive line been horrible that last couple years?

Tbh, Michael Vick is a better quarterback than Eli Manning and he's a 2nd stringer. Also Tim Tebow deserves a chance. I mean shit, Tebow is better than some QB's in this league and he can't even make it on a team. Eli Manning is overrated.

Roger Goodell has a salary of $44m for erroneously suspending players and destroying evidence of the Pat's spying. That's a sweeter deal.

This.
Highest paid employee in the NFL and doesn't play a down.

Theoretically there's more potential starting commissioners among the general public than starting qb's.

Pay for pro athletes is completely abberational, poorly distributed and enormous. That means... you have a certain amount getting a fortune, a lot getting incredible pay for 4-10 years and many getting very high pay for 0-10 years and then stuck without a job. $400k/year (is that NFL min wage?) sounds like a lot - til you consider average NFL career is 4 years and there are no 50 year old players.

It is an aside but I think part of mandatory contracts should be free education and health insurance for pro athletes. If you were 21 and got $1m/year you'd probably spend like there was no tomorrow. Also the lock in on initital contract in NFL is retarded. Seattle QB made less a season than Brady made per game for last year cos of that rule.

Tebow still can't get a job as a waterboy.   What an injustice.

Yes, and it is still pretty bad. Eli is getting overpayed though. When that much money goes to a QB it takes away from other positions. The Vagiants aren't going to do anything for years to come.

O-line has been bad, but Giants were still 10th out of 32 in total offense last year.  Eli's QBR was 11th overall.

Total offense is yards. When you are playing from behind all the time and the defense is backed off that's what happens.

I would say that Eli is @ the 11 th best QB in the league, so that's accurate.

As soon as someone say's Tim Tebow should be playing in the NFL, it's obvious that they know nothing about NFL football...WTF people...

What are you, 6 years old? Still in love with flashy things and jiggling car keys?

Vick and Tebow are straight garbage. Just like you. Troll along.

Still sounds and is a lot if you have any idea of money management.

Not really - 800k take home over four years isn't going to set you up big time or anything.

I would disagree or you need to move states...definitely a huge advantage.

Advantage, yes, and agreed location could play a big impact.

Not set for life or anything.  Even with a budget, he'd spend 1/4 of it over four years.
