I'm sure thats got more to do with wanting something that tastes ok (yeh I know realistically it tastes like crap).

i read sometime ( i think it was in Flex) something that Jay Cutler use to do to 'carb up' or something like that...It was ice-cream with ice and coke (i think diet coke)!
 He mentioned that besides the taste being great, its very good to 'fill out'
!

Jay used real coke, not diet which has no sugar. Coke or any other sugar filled soft drink is fine immediately after training. I drink a can of coke on the way from the weights to the shower and then have my protein shake after.

Sometimes I drink coke at the gym.  Its better than throwing 60g of sugar in with pre workout protein drink and a bit of caffeine in that situation goes pretty well.
