It could be your glands then. I had a cycst in my neck years ago and it had to be operated on and removed. It haemouraged when I was training oneday and came up the size of an egg. It was over my right gland.

That happened to me once. I thought my wisdom tooth was impacted. I was in college so I scheduled an appointment with my dentist. He sent a script for an antibiotic that I took. Evidently, I had eaten popcorn and one of the skins of the kernel got stuck in my gum and caused an infection. I looked like Rocky Dennis for a day with the swelling.

Dude go to the dentist ASAP. You need a root canal. I had the same shit happen about a year ago. I had a filling on a molar that the root was decaying on the inside. The filling causes the swelling becuase the tooth cant drain or something like that.

May be a lymph node. Is it hard and immobile or fluctuant...gives when you push on it. If it is hard and not mobile, get to a doc ASAP. Needs a biopsy. If hurts and tender, likely tooth and you need a dentist.

May have a tooth abscess and it can spread. Get to a dentist and get on some antibiotics. Cancer usually doesn't hurst although enlarged lyrmph nodes from lymphoma can irritate juxtaposed tissue causing pain. However, if the nodules hurt it could be a bad bacterial infection and even abscess which needs draining. Get to a dentist or doc ASAP. You need Penicillin or clindamycin and maybe an abscess drainage.

Like a previous poster stated, if it's painful to the touch is prob not cancerous, just an infection/inflammation. If it is in fact a swollen lymph node, you prob have an infection/inflammation somewhere in vicinity of the swollen lymph node (your lymph nodes act as a 'guardian' and attempt to keep the infection local. a swollen lymph node is a working lymph node). Don't get stressed about worst case scenario (cancer). I've had cancer that developed near lymph nodes, and the nodes exhibited no abnormal swelling/englargment at all.
Not sure if it's been mentioned but if your sinus cavity(s) and teeth all feel fine, and you have no other pain in the head/neck area other than what you mentioned, it may be a sign of mumps. Google mumps for more info.
As far as rotting teeth in your mouth, a rank smell would def be emitting from your mouth and there should be some inflammation of the gums around problem tooth/teeth. Maybe ask a 'loved one' to take a whiff for decaying matter. lol, but seriously.
