In Europe we pay double price for gas, compared to your prices. And I'm quite sure that in a year the price is 100% higher then now.

This is the best thing that could happen not only for the non-muslims among us but also for environment. In fact, what we need is an even higher oil price.
This way we can shift to alternative environment-friendly energies and stop throwing money at the arabs. Plus we will eventually be able to save the rest of what is left of our planet.

Oil prices in Europe are the SAME as the USA-the TAXES are different, that is why they pay more.
GAS in So Cal is $4.50 for regular (87-octane) unleaded gas.

The real reason for the increasing prices in oil is: there isn't much left. This could leed to a world crisis. I've read a great deal on this and this could be a reality very soon. Finding alternative fuel or energy is very important. And maybe the Americans should switch to more fuel-efficiant cars.

If gas doubles or triples, no problem. It's the ripples which scare me. If everything else triples too...hmmm... my income better too, along with everyone else's. This could get ugly.

totally agree, that's far more dangerous than high gasoline prices.
I don't even worry about myself, but if half of the maericans or europeans cannot afford to buy the food they need anymore, things will get nasty.

Gas is actually something I have been thinking about when buying my car. I have gone back and forth on what I want to get. But all the pluses and minuses still point towards the Escalade as the winner. But I have found something that may even help with the gas. I have been reading up on it and I think it might help. Has anyone does this to their car here.

Your government probably has a higher tarriff is all I can guess. I think the Aus gov makes something off it too, but people are starting to clamour for government assistance. Those V8s don't run cheap. ::)

Wow, and incredibly enough, the sale only lasts until June 10th 2008, which is tommorrow. Hmmmm....I wonder if I check the site tommorrow if the "sale" will be extended an extra day?

Once the bird flu hits and kills half the worlds population, the demand for oil should go down and the prices should get better. At least thats something to look forward to....
