I've been visiting Junaid (Protein Farts) since last Tuesday and we've just returned from a weekend foray in to Ocean City, MD.
Expectations were high for Junaid, in terms of hookups and random sexual encounters.
Suffice to say, all we encountered were alot of families, couples and a boatload of tipsy MILFs.
Not exactly what he or I, for that matter, expected.
Not that I was really looking for sex, but it would have been a pretty pathetic showing if I had been.
Some of it was circumstance, two weekends before the 4th of July, and some of it was probably just us being us.
I suppose my outlook differs from that of most men when it comes to these type of social situations.
My standards don't change regardless of the situation, while most men, in my estimation will compromise for the sake of sex.
Junaid did end up finding one woman who worked out for him.
There weren't many women there who were even on my radar to begin with.
I expected more women of the "pale" variety considering it is the East Coast.
What I saw were more of the same tanned, half-baked, blond nondescript types I left back in Phoenix.
Not that I have anything against all MILFs, but what makes them think that baked turkey look is attractive at 40 even if it was passable fifteen years prior?
One of you, I implore you, please answer for the MILF nation. :-X

Some guys/women have severe mommy issues.
Another part of the equation is women equating femininity with external appearance. People like that have to do everything possible for the sake of attracting younger men. Being tanned, fake-boobed and partying are all associated with vitality/youth. Instead of competing with younger women they just end up being too available (cougars) so guys don't take them seriously.
In a male dominated society, women are evaluated way differently than males. As guys get older people tend to look for other qualities in them. No one ever feels sorry for an unmarried guy with no kids or asks why he's still single. This day and age there's not even a huge benefit to marriage for most. Women, on the other hand, seem to gain a sort of legitimacy in the eyes of others the second they get a ring.
I only bring up marriage because a lot of the women you're refering to are likely divorced. Would be pretty hard to guess how many of them married and started families too soon just because they were doing what was expected. My estimatation would be many. Why else would they be trying to re-live the college experience in their late thirties, earliy forties and beyond?
I haven't even touched on mental disorders, childhood issues, intimacy problems, chidren, etc... Like I wrote, it's multifaceted. :)

Right darlin. We're talking about a boys night out in Ocean City MD. (And yes, I've been to Atlantic City, Ocean City and Myrtle Beach, then I lived at Daytona for nearly a year)
You don't even have a passport to get to London or Amsterdam or a beach near here and you couldn't fit on airplane seat and you certainly couldn't afford it plus working out the exchange rate is beyond you.

Me thinks you're projecting here a little herr doktor! :) All he said was that there were a bunch of over-tanned, drunken middle-aged women around... there could be a number of explanations for that.
There's a whole crew of 40-pluses in my office who take yearly vacations as a herd... they're all married but they love to get away it seems, and spend a week laughing and "hooting it up" :) and probably getting too sloshed every night, and from their pics, looks like they have a lot of fun.
btw... in my circles, an unmarried guy in his forties ALSO looks suspect. Probably has severe issues somewhere in the head, is closeted, has weird sexual appetites no woman could live with day and day out, or is just unwantable in some or many ways.

I do think there's some validity to the idea that many of these women are trying to relive a portion of the party life they've been missing via long marriages and other various commitments.
Unfortunately, there is no rewind button on the life remote.
As a thirty year old guy, seeing these women sloshed, trying to play the part of women half their age is a bit embarrassing.
I feel sorry for them more than anything.
Junaid wants to come out to Phoenix, so perhaps you can coordinate that for the fall.
On the flipside, I did see some pale girls, but they were strictly jailbait.
Most of the women were tan and that's sad for the eastcoast.
I suppose I'd have to go to New York to find the type of pale pets I prefer... :-X

Hitting NY city is the only way to find the pale, true goth, sub you're seeking. For that you'd need an experienced guide. I can't stand the city, too crowded. Other than being at an airport, I haven't been there since '88 and it still hasn't been long enough to suit me. If you and Juni had similar tastes, he would have known where to look in Md. to find what you like. I'd guess a lot of pale, depressed chicks would be into poetry. Talk Juni into joining one of those lame really interesting poetry clubs that do readings in bars and coffee houses before your next visit so he can do some recon expand his poetic horizons. :)

Jaded in the sense that life experiences jades anyone, which is inevitable.
Life has a ways of changing people, and it's how you deal with the circumstances which determines your final disposition.

Aside from a few dishes... food is an afterthought for me so there's no pickiness. I just hate restaurants you can't visit when hungry.

The fortunate part for me is that there weren't many women who were pale enough to my liking to begin with so it's not a real loss.
I was pretty surprised at how many tanned women there were in the DC, B-More area.
I expected better, and even stranger.........when we went to Ocean City, most of the people were out of shape.
I didn't see one bodybuilder, except for myself.

They should rename it MILF CITY.
The disparity between Phoenix and Baltimore/D.C. couldn't be any wider.

From what I've seen in Maryland, you have to practically kiss a woman's ass to get her to talk to you.

Thank God they're stuck up, LOL! I should have a lot of fun bringing a dose of reality to the area. Few things offend me more than average looking women with attitude.
Will try some cheesecake too, but I have to tighten up. Am healthy but feeling/looking a little fat at 204. I may have to chat with Heineken a little less often, LOL! On the bright side... physically I feel better a little heavier, no pains, colds, problems sleeping, etc... it's diffucult staying hydrated here but all my work-outs are going better with more weight. Will clean my food up a bit but eat more. 210 or so should be fine for a guy my height and there won't be any serious dieting until october or so but this time I'll get help.

Hmmm... Well my wife and I will take over each others stuff on a - as need be basis. Then do as well as possible.
But some stuff better done by one or the other.
I do feel most all women like a man whos "in control", not a controlling assHole. I'm still going w/ the instinctive & Genetic thing there to. Women cant stand a guy who cant make up his mind, even if hes wrong.
As fAR as making it work, that = make it last to my mind. Respect is key there.
Even when I allready know damn well what I plant to do, I run any important thing by her for input.
Sometimes I'll change even if I was dead set,
I wouldn't of married her If I didn't respect her ideas.. I do the same w/ employees, even HS kids. Let them feel their input is important. You get employees who'll nearly die for you like that.

As far as 'destroying egos" goes... it would be a lot better for her to learn sooner rather than later. There are tons of pretty girls everywhere. Pretty will get a girl asked out but definately will not keep a decent guy around. There are a lot of things more important than looks.
