R.I.P. Ric Drasin
« on: August 30, 2020, 04:55:43 PM »
"This is Sami, Adam, and Shane. It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we have to announce the passing of our father. He was everything to us. A father, role model, and friend. Not only was he an inspiration for countless people, but he truly cared for those around him. His life was steered by the desire to uplift and share his positivity. He always found a way to brighten the room with his humor. Ric’s immeasurable presence will be with us all forever."

Very sad.

I had a feeling this was more serious.  Something seemed a bit off in his last couple videos he made.

RIP Ric Drasin.  Original Gold's Gym member and he created the logos for Gold's and World gym.  Fine guitar player too.

He was there in the gym lifting with the legends. So glad he shared his experiences for us in the videos.  His health really seemed to be going down hill for awhile  from his heart,  bad knees and other damaged joints. There will be a void with his passing. PIP.

Kidney failure as well.  Hard to overcome when all these things hit you at once.  Just like when my dad died... multiple system failures.

He used to make great videos, especially the ones with Leroy Colbert who also passed away not too long ago.

Sad, I enjoyed his work, especially the early stripped down just a man and a camera type stuff. This and Boseman's passing makes you think about how fragile everything is.

RIP.

Very sad news. I found out this morning from his family. I had went to a satellite hospital of Saint Josephs in Burbank a little over a week ago to talk with him and make a video about his condition. He didnt have much energy to make the video so we reschedule to do it last week. A few days later his condition worsened and he was moved to Saint Josephs. When I did visit with him, we talked for an hour. I was outside looking into his window while he was laying in his bed. We talked on the phone. He was obviously dealing with his knee pain and a few other things but I did not think this would be the last time I would see him. We both figured he would recover from this in a few months and life would go on. Unfortunately this was not the case. I have been bummed all day from his passing. I considered him a good friend and we had a lot of good conversations on life, bodybuilding, the past, etc. I am fortunate to have known Ric and have a final conversation with him. I feel for his family and wish them the best through these hard times of losing a loved one. Rest in Power Ric.....
