Edit: Unless they are super coarse and wirey and thick...then shave them only occasionally.

i shave them, been doing it for years, helps keep the stink away , in those cases when you forget to put on deodorant

If you shave and you don't like it, it will grow back in a few days anyway. So it's no big deal. Don't sweat the small stuff. Asking about this and not just doing it says something about your lack of self confidence.
