I wish I still had the article, but Rampage took a lot of the things said on the show to personaly and Rashad still wanted to fight him, but Rampage backed out of the fight to "focus on his acting career". Passing up a great payday fight after months of hype is punking out andor being a bitch.

His UFC contract is for $300k + incentives (fight of the night, KO of the night, Submission of the night etc, plus a percentage of the PPV) what he did, despite his "retirement" was only put the fight on hold. He made more money with the movie than he would have by fighting. His per diem alone was $2500.00 per week for the movie. Now that he's done filming this month (I said this before) he will move back with his wife and kids and then start preparing for the fight. So, to reiterate, he didn't back out, he put it on hold.

While Rampage "puts the fight on hold" the fight is going to get cold. Rashad probably loses to Thiago, that sets up another rematch for the title for Thiago or could go the same way if Rashad wins over Thiago. Rampage decides to stop "putting the fight on hold" and by that time a new ultimate fighter series is ready to begin and the Rashad and Rampage fight will be old old news and maybe be shown on spike, but not pay per view.

Movie shoots are 10-12 weeks.

$2,500 x 12 = $30,000.

$300K>$30K

Ed, that was just for his PER DIEM. $30k in in playing around money isn't too shabby for 3 months. Look, I'll be the first to Rampage future isn't in acting, he knows it, I know it, I also know his contract (for the movie) is worth more than his contract with the UFC for all of his fights last year including his incentives. I also know that after his next fight he will be co-starring in a film by John Singlton. Quinton has made wise investments to protect himself and his family.

The December-news was that Rampage wanted to fight Rashad after filming was done.
