That is not what I said at all. I had originally decided to quit forever. Now I am stepping back from that.

I can easily taper off by doing exactly as I outlined. Eventually, I will just be a social drinker.

People don't quit bacon cheeseburgers, or pizza, or icecream, forever. Right?

Why should alcohol be any different?

You have not been a real alcoholic until you get DT's as to where you are shaking so bad you cant hardly get another glass up to your mouth to drink without spilling it after say about 6-8 hours.

Alcoholism is a progressive disease,it gets worse,not better.

No such thing as controlled drinking.....if you have to control it,that means it`s out of control.

Toughen up...............I quit a zillion and one times but it finally stuck.

I was hoping you would post. Are you scared to take a drink today? Is it the fear of starting the cycle over?

I am of the feeling, that I can control my drinking. I do not see why I have to give it up forever,

This is partly the reason why I started this thread. I will always tell everyone the 100% truth.

I think I can do it the way I suggested.
