Discipline---corporal punishment is good for kids, when used sparingly, if you are giving it to them regularly, then there are some issues with parenting...and if you take a look, they had a shitload of kids, many were adopted. Thet obviously didn't establish law and order in the house and thought that beating kids with "rods" would get them to behave...I bet Dad had a short temper too...lack of parenting skills+short temper+foster kids+not understanding the bible=dead child...

Children should be raised agnostic...let them deal with reality first. They can choose a religion later if they want too...

Will never happen though. Parents usually scare the kids into believing in God. Some wise up and those who don't will repeat the cycle.

In my house Religion was never used in a way to instill fear.
I was smacked when I misbehaved as a kid. Done me no harm.
Honestly I have had nothing but positive experiences from religion.
