I stopped playing basketball all the time.

I did 20-rep squats, 2 or 3 times a week.

I did really heavy deadlifts, benching, chins - just the core stuff.  I didn't do much for arms and shoulders, but I should have.  I went from lots of basketball to none.

I drank a gallon of milk a day.  I ate lots of McD big breakfasts.  I had 4 things from taco bell each night around 1 am, then slept til 10 AM.

I was a fatass, but I needed to do it.  It's exactly what Mike and I were arguing about - the major bulking.  What mike did, what trey brewer is doing, and what I did... add a lot of weight - some fat and some muscle - in order to reach new levels.

Do you think you would look better, or worse now if you didnt bulk up and gained slowly instead?

dunno.  maybe better.  but i dont know if I would have been able to put on 50 pounds (125 to 175) without eating some junk.

Phil could only dream of having your upper chest thickness !

Yeah, he did call me and ask about what exercises I do for that upper chest "shelf" that you can hold a beer on.

I told him the only solution is to die and come back with better genetics :)

Are you still playing basketball? If so, did your weight gain and loss have any effects on your game? My guess is, that you were at your worst while beeing 220pounds...

I'm playing some amateur basketball in Germany. I went from about 165pounds to 185pounds at first. I could still run and jump like @165pounds, but lost some agility. After some time off from basketball I played last season with mixed results (shitty defense, my shot was off, got it back later in the season though...).

My goal for my playing weight next season is 155pounds at 5'10. Right now I'm playing mostly as a 2 or even a 3, but maybe I can surprise our PG's with some extra speed coming from the weight loss... ;)
