Narrower than Philsulin.
Huge traps made him look narrow. I have a old Flex where he was "answering" his Ask Bertil column---there is a pic of him in a short sleeve dress shirt, and his traps gave him an "arrow" look.

By the mid-80s Bertil Fox had fucking mutated. He had a very 90s look about him. Too bad he had bad-mouthed all the judges by then so he was constantly out of the top 5. So noone payed attention really.

The condition, striations and density are top notch. Also very dry and doesn't look like someone filled him up (pardon the expression) with air before the show.
His muscle looks real.

Most importantly, his muscles look like they were made to go together, like a solid build.. not just a bunch of inflated bodyparts thrown together onto a skinny frame like Heath. Bertil would embarrass those guys in the gym as well.

my guess would be it's because they train legs and back much less often than they did in the 70s/80s (once a week, rather than twice a week) and they also train them using MUCH HEAVIER training loads

With the increased size, especially legs comes the waist expansion, not everybody has bob paris genes for a tight waist and a thigh measurement almost the same size.
With the back, robby already had a great back, so did quinn and jorma raty, haney, bannout then christian, etc, but I think its also a case of someone achieves it, it becomes the standard and others try duplicate it within their means

he used to go out with the daughter for a while and then she told him that she wants to break up the relationship and that she no longer wants to be his fiancee......they said he was really pissed and angry to the point that he confronted both the mother and her daughter with a gun and kill them both.........I have this sports illustrated article that talks about it in 1998.

Besides conditioning, he lacked back, legs, was also not very wide, which his huge traps and pecs made look even narrower
Back then, guys lacked hams, backs were not as good (with exceptions), delts were much smaller
But... Better question, IMO, would be: how would Heath do in Fox's day ? Sans slin, gh, and other exotic stuff. I think Heath wouldn't turn pro

he was known to lift heavy weights but to be honest his form was a bit loose from what i have seen ..however still a Beast .
