I watched Paddy's fights.  He's good!!!  I think he'll make the final!  ... (although the Olympic scoring system seems very flawed?)

Incidentally, Zimbabwe have 3 silvers and a Gold now. And our sprinter made the final of the 200m last night.

If you are from Belfast should you not be more concerned with the performance of your home team?

Belfast is in Northern Ireland hence your support should be towards the "Great Britain And Northern Ireland" team, not "Eire".

Boxer from Belfast representing Ireland rather than Britain?

What's this all about then? Surely the boxer should be with us, weeping as they raise the Union Jack and hearing God Save The Queen?

Belfast is NOT in Ireland, it is in Northern Ireland. Two totally separate and very distinct countries.

She is the Queen. I would not disrespect here because I am not English in the same way just because I am not Buddist does not mean i will disrespect the daili Lama.

Belfast is NOT in Ireland, it is in Northern Ireland. Two totally separate and very distinct countries.

Your silliest post ever. Ireland is an Island. And Belfast is a city in Ireland. That is like saying that Berlin is not in Europe because it is Germany.

Boxing is massive in Ireland. I know lots of boxers, lots of respect for them

I think it is funny when people 1000s of miles away try to tell me what country is what. It is like me commenting on North African borders etc

Don't be so fucking dumb you twat.

Ireland and Northern Ireland  are two different countries on the same island of land.

It's the same with Scotland and England. Belfast is a city in NORTHERN IRELAND just like Glasgow is a city in Scotland, not England. Ireland and the word Island may sound the same but they are different things.

God, you are one thick Northern Irish Brit.

When I lived in England, the jokes were all about the Irish - in the same way that we, Canadians, reference the Newfs.  I can remember only one. Why did the Irish team abandon their Everest quest? Answer: they ran out of scaffolding.  8)

He is not Irish Chimps. He is Northern Irish. He is a Brit and part of the British Isles. Northern Island is a totally different country and Goudy lives in it's capital city, Belfast.

Goudy is British, not Irish.

Northern Ireland is NOT a county either. FACT

Yes it is you idiot. It's part of the British Isles, just like Scotland. That is why there is also no Scotland.

You are from Northern Island and live under the sovereignty of the Queen. You are not an Irishman at all.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH OWNED

   Northern Ireland - Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom, and covers 5,459 square miles (14,139 km˛) in the northeast of the island of Ireland, approximately a sixth of the total area of the island. It has a population of 1,685,000 (April 2001) — between a quarter and a third of the island's total population. It consists of six counties situated within the province of Ulster, and in the UK is generally known as one of its four Home Nations, forming a constituent part of the United Kingdom.

I am greatful for free healtcare education. I dont pay taxes. A student.

if grandparents were born in Ulster, the province which is Northern Ireland. Although occupied by the British, the Irish constitution claims Northern Ireland to be part of the Republic of Ireland, therefore most people born in Northern Ireland prior to 1922 are Irish by birth. If this applies to your parent or grandparent, then you are also considered to be an Irish citizen.

Northern Ireland as it is known is another name for a 6 county Ulster. Ulster has 9 counties(provinces)

Here's a geography lesson for the inferior intellects to myself:

  • Great Britain is indeed the solid mass which is comprised of England, Scotland and Wales, Ireland is part of the "British Isles" but is separate to "Great Britain"
  • Northern Ireland is a constituent country within the UK (a country within a sovereign state in this case)
  • Goudy, if you was born in Northern Ireland you're British, you're like a Paki otherwise... swearing alegiance to the koran and Pakistan before Britain because you believe in Satan and your parents were born in Pakistan

Anyone single boxer born in the whole island of ireland has to box for ireland in the olympics. Wayne mccullough is from a staunchly loyalist area...a few years ago he carried the olympic flag for ireland. House was then targeted etc.

Northern Ireland is the occupied 6 counties of the 9 county ulster. This is so stupid. Everyone knows this
