Congrats, an interesting topic. I agree with you that Dawkins has an unfortunate tendency to interpret lack of positive evidence as positive evidence for what evidence is lacking for. He is to me actually quite unscientific in this regard. I admire people who admit what is unknown.

This being said- epigenetics is on the rise and it will be interesting to follow this field in the coming years.

Not true. Shared DNA may well code for protein synthesis. Junk DNA refers to DNA that does not code for proteins. Recent recearch shows that such DNA, at least to some extent, has other functions.
