origins of posing
« on: December 03, 2007, 11:45:57 PM »
ive wondered this for a while now. since there are some bbing historians here (in a way), i hope to find some answers to these questions.

1. when did the current set of mandatory poses first become introduced into competition? - what were the mandatory poses (if any) before this time?

2. when did bbers first start moving one leg back (to show off the hams and calves) in a back pose (e.g. back double biceps/back lat spread)?

just a couple questions for now. appreciate any answers.

I am not positive of this, but I believe that Thomas Edison used Eugen Sandow as one of his first subjects in his 'motion picture machine', and that his images are amongst the first ever to be ascribed to celluloid.

I could be wrong on dates and time periods and such, but I don't think so.
