Title: Sparta tough man races
Post by: bigmc on October 11, 2013, 05:57:39 AM
I was watching ufc prime time last night

they had Jamey varner and the kid who is fighting gsp on doing one of those Sparta races 33386 is always banging on about

at the start they were all stood in a huddle shouting we are Sparta etc

most of them were taking part without tops on

some had war paint on

my question is this

wtf?

Spartan,Tough Mudder and those seem like to much work. The Warrior dash's that I've done are fun.A little bit of a challenge but not extremely difficult and a helluva party afterwards.

...they have bands playing, beer and food tents.everybody hangs out after they finish and have a good time...we have even tailgated in the parking lot.

Did the tough mudder last june.  Did not see the gayness that I've seen in the videos posted.   Just a cool vibe.

Spartan race in Fenway might prove otherwise.

Better grip on the walls, joist, monkey bars, etc.   Also just a habit at this point too.  I hate the damn headband I had to wear - look like a mental patient,

Why the headband then?

They used to have the bob number w safety pins - but Fenway park made them have to not use any safety pins.  The only way to tag photos is w the headband if not for the headband.   But w all have a timer chip on our wrist

That net obstacle is really easy.   If they somehow made the top a flat, 10-20 ft length of net, then it would be difficult.

I did two sets at 6 reps each set. First set was 25 kilos for 15 reps. Then 30 kilos for 12 reps. 35 kilos for 10 reps and then last two sets @ 40 kilos 6 reps. I had done one armed DB rowes @ four sets at 20 kilos first. After my t bar rowes I did pully rowes for 5 sets and then lat pull downs to front for 3 sets. I finished off with four sets of DB curls for bis.

No... Do tell

 ;D

The lyrics are about an Australian traveller circling the globe, proud of his nationality, and about his interactions with people he meets on his travels who are interested in his home country.

One of the verses refers to Vegemite sandwiches, among other things; the particular lyric "He just smiled and gave me a Vegemite sandwich" has become a well-known phrase.[5]

Slang and drug terms are used in the lyrics:

Travelling in a fried-out Kombi, on a hippie trail, head full of zombie.

In Australian slang "fried-out" means overheated,[6] Kombi refers to the Volkswagen Type 2 combination van,[5][6] and having "a head full of zombie" refers to the use of a type of marijuana.[5][6] Cultural slang is also used: after the second verse the refrain is "where the beer does flow and men chunder"; "chunder" means vomit.[5]

Day 1

Warmup - Pullup / Pushup / Run pyramid:

1 pullup run 50m - 2 pushup - run 50m - 2pullups - run 50m 4 pushups...continue to 10 pullups/20 pushups

Hellacious 100s:
Do 100 reps of the following exercises in as few sets as possible in circuit fashion:

100 calories burned as fast as you can using elliptical, bike, treadmillm, or rower (max out resistance / incline)
100 pullups
100 bench press at 135# or 100 TRX Atomic Pushups
100 squats 135#
100 push press at 95#
100 situps - 1 min sets
100 calories burned as fast as you can again

Run 20 minutes, 20 min ruck, or 20 min swim with fins

________________________ ___________________

This guy is going to kill me w these workouts.  But I nailed it yesterday w Ruck Run averaging less than 11:00 / mile and 2 hours of cardio afterwards.

So pain now - success later.

That 100s thing is nuts.  The pullups alone are sick.

First conditioning in two weeks - rested after Spartan to give twink bones/joints a break.

Seconds Interval timer for iOS is great....just found it.

All exercises for 20 seconds, 5 seconds rest between stations:  3 circuits

Goblet squat
TRX underhand row
pushup
Swiss ball plank
Farmers walk
MB slam
Box Jump 24"
Swiss ball ab curl
Band pull
Hammer curl
Battle rope
Ruck sandbag row

Man, did I lose conditioning quickly, but also never incorporated all that equipment in my basement.  Guess I can bag the gym membership.

LOL - so far everything I have done this year I have accomplished fine.   Spartan Race - top 7%, Merrell D&D - top 5%, CMC Top 3%, GoRuck Light - 2x done,  GoRuck Challenge - done.

I am going for the 24+ Hour beat the fuck down over 50 plus miles.   I trained my balls off for this.  I hope I pass and have worked for this far harder than you have for anything in your life.

You are a fat fuck who is little more than sideliner at best.  When you are ready to step in the arena pm me or grape - we can give you tips to get ready fatty.   May take you 1 year to get in any type of shape that is not laugh inducing, but if you want it - no grudges - just pm us when you are ready.

FYI - Grape is in great shape and way better than he lets on here.
It's not too late for you to pack in your vagina and back out of the little race.

Unlike you who just eat like a pig and flips a tire here or there - I actually challenge myself to harder and harder events.

Well - we were a group of 25 or so - and so far a week out 5 have already dropped out.   So this thing is scaring the fuck out of people.  Not me - I will go and give it my all.  If I fail - I fail - but not for lack of trying or training.

GoRuck Heavy is serious fucking business

  GORUCK HEAVY

GORUCK Heavy is a 24+ hour dose of Special Operations training. It is not for the faint of heart, but our hope is that all who start will finish together. There will be more physical and mental stress, which means more leadership and teamwork training – than in GORUCK Light or the GORUCK Challenge – some lessons can only be learned through time, and 24+ hours is a lot of time.

It is our hope that the lessons you take away in leadership and pushing beyond your perceived physical and mental limitations will serve you long beyond these 24 hours.

You will be with a group of up to 30 fellow participants (aka members of your new GORUCK family) and one Cadre, an experienced Special Operations member who will lead your class to become one team. This is not a race, ever.

And it’s not nothing.

If you’re wondering about GORUCK Selection and/or entering into a Special Operations career, this is a great place to start.

Those who complete GORUCK Heavy will earn the GORUCK Heavy patch, which will never be for sale. Upon completion, you are also qualified to participate in our Capstone Events and GORUCK Scavenger.

You must be 18 to participate in GORUCK Heavy.

Will you post pics of the low hung tittied housewives carrying you or will you bow out gracefully?
Knowing you, getbig will be subjected to a bunch of pics of you climbing through mud, over concrete blocks, running between some lines then flying over an 8' chain link fence with barbed wire on top.

And that's just you running out of the parking lot from embarrassment!

16km. The last km took most people 10-15mins to give you an idea of how shit it was.

I thought the carpet was for when he's on his hands and knees ???

I took off all my clothes just by the finish line. I was borderline hypo thermia. My cock was not doing me proud on this day  :(
Title: Re: Sparta tough man races
Post by: chaos on December 11, 2013, 06:05:51 AM
Threw a ball over the fence...hopped the fence, wrestled the neighbors dog for the ball, ran 3 laps around his yard running from the dog, dodged a clothesline, orange tree and several "natural" doggy landmines, cleared the fence on the opposite side of the yard, had to stop and fondle help some strange women over, circled around front, realized I pissed my pants, front rolled over some hedges in the front yards on my final sprint home, ran into some twinky bearded guy that helped me carry the ball back to my yard.

It was brutal, a 5 minute run, so difficult it took me 6.

Wont be a problem.  Im already at 100 pushups in 2 minutes along w the sit ups etc.   The ruck no problem at all.   I have it down pat now what pace I need to keep to stay at 15 minute mile.  Ill train my fucking balls off  - and ill try to fit this in next October.  Regardless - im going to train like crazy from here on out.

The push ups and sit ups are easy, and I figured the ruck would be as well.   8M mile over 5...yeah..I guess so.

This quote was funny for group 002 about the only guy out of 19 who passed:

Let me tell you - this last one was sadistic.  I was about to quit 3 times at least it was that awful and grueling.  I would post more about it - but I get other nonsense to deal with when I do - so pm me if you want to know more.

Training?  I train harder than 95% of any other person on this site and have little doubt whatsoever about that claim.

I make it a priority to be ready and prepared - but at a certain point there is nothing else you can do and you just have to deal mentally with awful shit.

Hawaii Iron Man for ultimate test.

We had a few people who did Ironman in our group who said this was way fucking harder.  Ironman is a race and geared towards specific things.  This is more just a slower grind

We had 2 marines quit.  Another guy w me who was in pre-Ranger school said this was a lot harder than that.

When you add cold wet sandy dirty and 50lbs on your back, and pt, miles, etc - little things becoming things fast.
