He doesn't "believe in guns," but he believes in the existence of angels firing guns and is thankful for those angels protecting him with their guns. Good representation of anti-gun people and their mindset.
After the robber had been shot, police say he jumped over a fence and was attacked by a German Shepherd. That attack prevented him from getting away.
