I think it comes down to whether or not it is affecting her work, health, finances, and relationships negatively.
Surely a 120 pound woman drinking like that all the time is an alcoholic.

Has she EVER tried to hide her consumption of booze from you?
Does she have memory loss the next day after drinking? Real memory loss, not just "I sort of remember that" type memory loss.

i would suggest that she may have a problem...
with alcohol the best approach is not to confront people... try not to enable the drinking if it bothers you and try to create situations that prevent drinking (like having her drive you somewhere when you know she planned to drink)...

She may not be in the "zombie" stage, that's usually at the point they realise (but never fully) they have a problem. She is still very dangerous to you and your sorroundings.
The very fact that you care is enough of a proof that you're not emotionless bastard. She can use you, play on your emotions and fuck your mind for good.
Don't get fooled, she WILL go down, REGARDLESS of whatever you or anyone else might do.
Stay the fuck out of it.

I can laugh now, wasn't so funny at the time...I thought I was dead. these guys wanted to seriously fuck me up and there were like 12 of them. Thank GOD the "leader" wasn't a dickhead, and saw it was all the chicks doing. he suggested we leave, she didn't want to and i fucking left her there and never saw her again.

It will be very difficult to be the one that helps her and to keep her as a friend IMO. Once you start reminding her of her addiction/problem she will distance herself from you. Girlfriend, friend, coworker, it doesn't matter. Just my experience.

Leave, roll out, bounce. It'll be no good if you stay. I dealt with a woman who had that 'conservative" trick, but was a drunk---look intot he family a bit, and you'll see the reason why. Just a continuing cycle...

There are different ways in which alcoholism manifests. Some alcoholics drink everyday all the time and then there are "binge" drinkers who generally get very drunk when they drink, although they may remain relatively sober between binges.
For example, my mother was mostly a binge drinker. She could go about a month between binges on average. When she was not binging, she could even manage very moderate social drinking. When whatever it was that tipped the scale and made her want to tie one on, she'd drink until she was completely out of it drunk. Her binges only lasted one evening. She rarely drank at home. The next morning she'd be so hung over she was sick as a dog. Her binge drink of choice was screwdrivers. When I was a teenager and old enough to drive I'd go out with her so I could drive her home. She'd consume so much alcohol it was amazing she didn't kill herself.
Drinking releases our inhibitions. My mom would turn into a monster when she was loaded. She was an entirely different person when she was sober. I am no expert, but I would say this is a pretty good sign a person is deeply troubled and needs help.

That is what we all believe we can do. Just to prove it, I will give up drinking altogether for a week or two. But in truth I enjoy having a few drinks in the evening and see no real reason why I shouldn't. Of course, I don't get drunk per se and there is no change in my personality. That's my excuse for thinking it is OK for me to drink if I want to.

If she starts getting excited and aggressive because she wants to go out after a week... a clear signal. sounds like she is a Binge drinker.. these types often don't touch alcohol during the week but on a Saturday night..drink till they drop. They can't control it. sounds like she is like this. Hard situation Galeniko if you love the woman...not so easy.

I suspect people who binge drink often seek out partners who don't drink at all. My stepdad never drank. He hated my mother's drinking so much he would leave the house when it became clear she was headed out to get drunk.
He couldn't even tolerate their friends drinking socially at a party. One time, my parents had a New Year's Eve party. My mom was on good behavior because she was the hostess. At some point my step dad snapped and started pouring all the liquor down the drain. Fortunately, most of the guests had gone home.
I think my mom felt my stepdad stabilized her somewhat. They stayed married over 30 years until my stepdad died from lung cancer.

Id leave for work and she would be passed out. So, i started jerking on her feet and face while she was passed out in the morning. She got a few DUI's, spent time in jail. Would drink at case a night
