Many people talk about protein powder being a waste of money etc etc.
This is how much 25g of protein costs me per source:
Whey(true protein's WPC/WPI) $.37
Skim milk ($2.29/gallon) $.45
Whole eggs ($1.68/dozen) $.58
Tuna can (Starkist $.77/can) $.96
93% Burger ($3.95/lb) $.99
1% Cottage Cheese ($2.69/tub) $1.54
Chicken breast ($3.99/lb) $.99
The way i see it, whey, eggs, milk are the cheapest sources with whey being by far the cheapest.
The Tuna, that's high. I pay like 50 cents a can. (Chunk Light, though White is better).
For Chicken, you can get away cheap with regular breast (bone in) or chicken thighs. (Like 1.29 per lb.)
Anyways, good post, I just happen to be cheap, and I love teh regular breasts, skin, with bone.
Baked with a chicken rub, yumm, want some now at 4 AM !
