Because that is the path it is on. In the ancient world there was a saying that "all roads lead to Rome". In what passes for modern bodybuilding one could also say that "all roads lead to dialysis".

Additionally it is a play on words. Given that many competitive bodybuilders today will make a series of self centered pathetic videos focusing on their contest prep for a title and the call it something along the lines of "The Road to the Boiled Peanut Festival", I simply mock that with "The Road to Dialysis".

It's where they're headed unless they change their course. Examples? Flex Wheeler and Derek Anthony to name but two, one famous and the other infamous.

I so respect the work of Mike Mentzer. He was quite honest about his use of steroids. In one interview he went so far as to say he was worried more about their effect upon the mind than the body. In another, he said that when asked if he took them, his reply was (paraphrased), "Yes. Lots of them!"

Having seen the Mentzers train I can attest to the sheer intensity of their style of lifting. Both were quite strong too. Back on topic.
