He's a couple weeks away from another lumbar surgery where they will remove the back screws.

He must be on some serious painkillers.
-
Surprised at how skinny his legs looked doing those curls.
Still looks like he's enjoying life doing what he loves.

he still using dangerous form but good for him who gives a shit what he chooses to do

The guy is a tool, seriously:
Preacher curl = elbow-joint wrecker
Behind-the-Neck Pulldown = shoulder wrecker
Plus, his form and rep cadence isn’t too informed from his litany of injuries. He’s stuck in his infancy understanding of resistance training with no consideration toward routine modifications.
He’s a friendly man, but entirely an idiot.

He needs to hook up Panamanian stem-cellers. :D

Not sure why a woman would want to train in that shit hole.😳 You have to disinfect everything after being in there.

Mental retardation. Really sad.

what do you guys suggest he do instead?
-
what do you guys suggest he do instead?
I can certainly relate to the spinal issues. Training actually helps me feel better so I am all for it. I do think he should adjust some of his training to reduce downward pressure on his cervical and lumbar areas where he has had major surgeries. I feel bad for him that he can't walk unassisted.
He literally broke the screws training that led to the second major surgery which was eleven hours.
For example he is doing this like Branch which is not helping his situation.

Ron, Palumbo, Manion, Flex, Shawn, Cormier, Vicky Gates, Milos, Kevin should do an intervention.

It's all he knows, he doesn't know what to do with himself without the gym, his whole identity is based on muscle, it's given him everything he's achieved in life for the most part, so I see why he's still in there. In some aspects its really sad, but his positive attitude is commendable, cant deny that, he looks happy to be training.

It's sad how his body is wrecked. So is Dorian's. Meanwhile Lee Haney has no problems at all. Robby keeps training at 71. Sometimes I think the secret of longevity is using moderate weights. Train the muscle instead of shifting heavy weights up.

The only thing Ronnie is grinding now is cartilage. Not sure about Dorian though - plenty of biking and yoga going on for him and he has clearly been completely off the gas for years. His hairline isn't doing too badly either...
Wonder if Ronnie wishes he could do this? Maybe there's a special cream that would help...

Dorian mentioned his TRT regiment on Rogan's podcast and in another recent video (so foot is lightly on the gas :D). He also may have had some transplants.
That said he looks healthy and is not going under the knife every six months.
-
Why are you shitting on preacher curls fag?
First of all, it’s a biceps exercise. Biceps. FAG. Second, as I say, it’s very established fixed-position elbow joints are vulnerable to undue stresses when there’s intense flexion in the upper arms. FAG.
Young, fresh joints can get away with it. But a beaten-to-shit middle-aged dude might wanna consider other movements to better accommodate worn body parts.
Fag.

Haha - fair enough, I imagine most higher level guys might need a little something long term after years of shifting their axis around. I was meaning more like Kamali et al.... (but of course you knew that ;))
But transplants? Say it ain't so dude! Guess I'm the last person in the world to know this, as per usual.... :P

This happens to many people when they retire, they spend 20-30 doing something every day, then they retire and don't know what to do with themselves, happened to my grandfather, but I'm sure for public figures/athletes it's even harder.

Two of my best friends on the ship are guys in their mid 60's they could have retired a long time ago, but are enjoying life on the ship , being around young people keeps them feeling young, both work in our Excursions Department, so they basically sell tours and go on tours. I totally see their point of view, especially seeing what happened to my grandfather. I met another guy a few days back who is retired and just became an Uber driver just to get out of his house for a few hours a day, makes a lot of sense. I'm sure Ronnie is going through this kind of dilemma.

Is this real life?
I’ve been a weight trainer, competitive bodybuilder and powerlifter for over 30 years. Interviewed hundreds of top level guys in all muscle and strength sports. In fact, I was one of the first to pen a feature on Coleman for a major publication (MuscleMag).
I’m not lecturing anyone. Ronnie’s not in this thread.
I’m merely saying for a guy with serious health woes relating to his lifting, it’d be better for him to choose his exercises with more discrimination. That some are more harmful to joint health than others isn’t a matter of opinion.
Why do I even bother. Guys like you aren’t particularly intelligent or experienced, so I’m sure my efforts are a waste of my time.

If he had made those changes right when he retired he would be in far better shape now. Or after the hips were done..or after the cervical spine surgery..or first lumbar spine etc. Man I've lost track of all the surgeries. :-\

looking at the construct of our body, I'm of the opinion that there is no way to lift real heavy and maintain normal function thru advanced age.... while using moderate/light weight is super beneficial.
life is short, tho... so whatever.

He must be high. If they take an anterior approach they will move the peritoneal greater/lesser sac for access and there is no way they are removing his spine. I know what they are doing and I really hope they get this right because he's running out of options. I thought they were just removing the plates/screws from the last surgery. Now a cage will be placed in the inter-body space and packed with bone graft to help stimulate bone growth. It restores the height of the spine and stabilizes the vertebrae as they fuse together. They have to use all the right materials for this to be a success.

Wonder if there's anybody round here would like to take a guess what sort of regimen would be indicated..?

Not sure about that. Apparently he's got a very unique surgeon visiting from South American lined up for the job; Dr El Diablo Cazador de Hombres.
Apparently he only works in the hottest years...
and this year it grows very hot...

I've gone over my injuries here before from being a college WR and a close to 30mph downhill mountain bike crash. My AC ligaments let go in my rt arm and collar bone popped though the skin, rt knee dislocated, c6 fractured (that was caught years later when my left arm was was losing all strength and pain was insane), my rt knee was dislocated and I had a severe concussion and a few other lesser injuries. Lumbar spine was injured but I already had issues from football.
It will really depend on what he's been on and hopefully he's kept the meds under control. He has mentioned being in pain all the time so maybe he has a fentanyl or morphine time release patch. He likely also uses 800mg Motrin and may have long release oxy tabs. This would likely be continued after he's weaned off iv pain meds. The key is to limit this these meds so your tolerance does not increase. He could also have medical marihuana.

They have to use all the right materials for this to be a success.
thank you dr white, for clarifying what the doctors are doing to that big idiot coleman, mr white, you always seem to be on about these things, i really liked how in the show you always outsmarted everyone, and you have definately gotten bigger and more vascular since the show ended, mr white do you think the reason ronnie is confused about his surgers is because, whatever his doctor tells him ronnie just nods his head and goes "yeah buddy yep yep"

mr white i think the doctor should use, dumbells and barbells to explain to ronnie what he is going to do , perhaps he could go to that shit hole gym ronnie trains at and get a better understanding of how ronnie thinks :)

Ouch! :-X
Soooo..... you're basically saying...... he should use Tom Waits' (now available) personal physician...? 8)
