I was walking down the streets today and i saw 3 guys meeting up 1 more guy and they all took turns in hugging the 4th guy ??? Why do they do this?
When did someone decide that a firm handshake is not enough?
I bet if you hug your male friends theres just a matter of time before you start kissing on the mouth just to say hello.

I love (not in a homo way) some of my friends and I'm very glad to see them usualy, nothing wrong with a shoulder pat. In some cultures males kiss while greeting and it's considered normal. Get out of the closet, seems you try too hard not to come off as a shit-pusher.

Any family member coming back from war.
All family members during a funeral.
And the biggest reason of all? Someone you genuinely love.

I have a 11 year old son, and I still hold his hand when we are together to cross the street. I will until he asks me to stop. There comes a day when they feel like they don't need that anymore, I don't want that day to come. That is love!

My family growing up were not physical at all. Hugs were rare, if at all. My wife family was the opposite. I learned to hug from her. I don't regret it.
Today we were at an outdoor Saturday market. There was a fellow wearing a sign which read "free hugs." He asked my wife if she'd like a hug. She said yes. It was nice. I decided against hugging this stranger. This is still be a bit of a stretch for me. I'll stick to hugging friends and family.

Hugs are for those close people in your life, male or females. I have uncles that i love, they are getting older, some are very sick and I hug them every time I see them because I know soon, they will be gone. I hug my son and kiss him on the cheek, I will until the day I die.

I don't like to hug, male or female, family or friends. I just don't like the physical contact. When chatting with someone and he/she touches my arm - which would be considered very friendly - I really, really have to fight the urge to jump back and scream.
A friend of my mom once mentioned how weird she thought it was, that I don't kiss my mom hello when we meet. Well, it's just not me (or my mom).
The only one I do hug is hubby Phreak. But even then I still feel a bit uncomfortable, although it is very nice to hug a big bear like him.
