damn man that's just not right. Had to put my son in a time out for saying "damn it" the other day. I don't even know what my wife would do if he said some of that stuff.
i worked in a group home for a while. in those households, profanity doesn't hold the weight it does elsewhere. to them, saying "you're being a bitch" is like saying "you're being bad". they just don't interpret those words with the severity we do. and, really, if you think about it... doesn't that mean that they're not really being verbally abused? words are just clumps of syllables we attach meaning to. if you're taught that "bitch" isn't anything serious, it isn't magically damaging the kid just because society at large says it's a bad word. i had 11 year olds dump piles of curse words on me and literally not realize what they were saying was bad. because, to them, those words are on par with "darn" and "shoot".
i'm not saying the kid had a good household (the vulgarity and the fact that they taped it are symptomatic of larger problems IMO), but taking the kid away from his parents BECAUSE of that video is just plain stupid.
