The Hulk seemed much stronger. He once threw a grizzly bear like 100 feet through the air.

The Hulk's strength grew in proportion to whatever force opposed him.
He was gamma.
-
Pretty weak numbers for a former sheet metal worker. I was expecting retard strength.
-
Not even close.

Mentzer exceeded all of that while being a drug free teenager.

Are you talking IFBB pro bodybuilder? Or any pro bodybuilder?
There is this guy, Christopher Oketch, PNBA pro bodybuilder and Kenya's/Qatar's Strongest Man.

IFBB pros only, Lou is the strongest by far, stronger than Ronnie

Or at least that he got that big ole' retard dong DNA - hung like the hammer in Big Ben
-
I'm not sure about the deadlift.

Bro...
Brutal but true...
-
I remember the Strongest Man in the World competition he beat out all the power lifters in the car deadlift.
-
Pig farmer strength is real

Lous wasn't very strong on the Superstars weightlifting segment, or in Pumping Iron do the military 1/2 reps of peace...
"I WANNA BEAT HIM"...

Placing 4th in a World's Strongest Man contest, especially considering he didn't know how to train for some of the events, is quite impressive.
He's no Christopher Oketch, but..... ;D

At the time, strongman wasn’t even a recognized, established sport. This was its “novelty” spectacle days, in which everyone from footballers to … participated.
And concerning the numbers listed …
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahaha!

Most strongmen were the guys ripping up phone books or bending bars in their mouth. Bill Pearl, former Mr. Universe, made more money doing strongman stunts than he ever did as a bodybuilder. Chuck Sipes was another guy who did such feats like bending spikes and tearing license plates in half.
That was back when people expected bodybuilders to be as strong as (or stronger than) they looked. Didn't the old AAU shows have a weightlifting portion and a bodybuilding show for their contests?

Sipes was a beast. The guy worked hard labor all day and then came for a 2 hour workout.

I hope he would since they had everyone entering, from track/field, to NFL... Lou was far from weak, just those numbers are a joke...

Sergio Oliva had a hard-labor job in a foundry. And he managed to hit the iron for a couple of hours. He also was no slouch in the strength department, as he was a weightlifter for Cuba.
-
Lou was stronger than Ronnie (Brutal if true)

I also worked in a foundry and then lifted when I was young. I don't have any Sandows though. :-[

No, bro.

Lou was stronger than Ronnie (Brutal if true)
No way. Ronnie was so strong he destroyed his spine.

People forget Lou was 6'5'' (in his prime) and also had anger issues due to him being deaf, it's crazy how strong he was, 900 lb deadlift, 600 lb bench press, etc, stronger than Franco and Arnold

Unfortunately for Lou, he was in bodybuilding and not powerlifting.

Bill Pearl did like the old strongman stuff but he really made his money with his Gyms.
Ferrigno for me had no charachter or intelligence like Pearl. Even if he was the Hulk ::)

No one forgets he was six-five.
And there’s zero chance he ever came even close to those numbers.
Hope this helps.
-
No. Pamith is right. People frequently forget about Lou, the retarded pig farmer.
-

I'm sure being the "Hulk" made him the bulk of his money.

In the famous TV show ''the incredible hulk'', Lou was shown to do outrageous feats of strength

However, as strong as he was, he showed to have a ''tender'' side with small animals
