That was the whole point of the thread, that the NFL doesn't seem content to just let the teams play the games...always have to make it about "something bigger."

Sure enough, during the highlights after the game, the schmoes on the NFL Network were going on and on about how the Giants "...still didn't have power, all these other things going on, but they still showed up to work..." So did millions of others in that area who don't play a game for a living.

how many have they won since ben's two rapes? the nfl politely got the fuck rid of them in last season's playoffs, will call a game against them this year, if they even think about trying to win a superbowl. regular doesn't matter in the nfl like it matters when robbing Pitt of a victory over ND in the national championship rankings.

obviously, the year didn't make a difference, given the superbowl year was the year they were back in the superdome, and the nfl let you know they put up $30 MILLION of their money to get the superdome game ready.

oh, that superbowl was the most WATCHED sporting event EVER, the nfl had a record year in merchandise and advertising sales, and you think the National Felon League was going to let the saints finish the year without a ring.

Dude, I went heavy on the Giants to cover, then even heavier on them just to win, but then I got this report early Sunday that everything about the Steelers' week had been the same with the exception of travel, while many of the Giants had dealt with minor inconveniences throughout the week. This Vegas guy said that the line was actually off by 7 points and said the Steelers would win by 3-4 points. It was a very compelling argument that ended up being spot-on.

To say I regret not reversing some of my bets on that information is an understatement. I lost pretty big Sunday, but THANKFULLY, Bryant managed to kick that last FG at the end of the Falcon-Cowboy game last night, which allowed me to win some of it back (Atlanta minus-4). MILLIONS changed hands on that kick when there was a possibility that they would just kneel down. *whew*
